Danube and Rhine cruises are exactly what I am hoping for....that would be spectacular, I think....
Hey now,, soon the ships won’t even need to leave port,, you can board in Baltimore at one end and Bayonne NJ on the other end.
then take a zip line and horizontal escalators and smegways to get around..
I miss shooting skeet and smacking golf balls off the rear myself..
btw,, we used to RCCL,, now we Princess. wish we could afford Crystal or Cunard. ;-}
You are correct. People get sicker, more often, from regular restaurants rather than from cruise ships. When 300 people dine out at a restaurant, go home, and get sick, no one hears about it because the sick person knows nothing about the other 299 sick people.
On a cruise ship, no one can leave, so 300 sick people concentrated in one location is a news-worthy event.
Before touching any food on a cruise ship, the crew drenches you with sanitizer. If you don't sanitize, you don't eat. One guest said to the crewmember, "I don't need any sanitizer. I just showered." The crewmember queried, "Did you touch the elevator button?" before hosing him down with sanitizer.
I would eat cruise buffet before touching a dish at a fancy restaurant.
What did they do that was so bad?
Yes, I have a son and he wants shrimp and filet mignon...LOL!
That’s ok, I have a 10-year old grandson, and his favorite dish to order is a lobster tail. :-)
Once you’ve been “Crystalized” you’ll never go back.
Customer service is always top notch.
Sailed on Symphony in 1997 with 10 year old daughter. Sailed again in 2010 and when boarding, one of the Lido Deck Men recognized both of us by name. They do it all the time!
Sailed Serenity for a month in 2012 and after a day, the Lido Team all knew who to take care of!
Standing on Omaha Beach elicits an emotion that I wish every freedom-loving person could experience. Walking through the American cemetery you can only imagine the horror that these young men experienced as they gave their lives for the freedom of the entire world.
“I would never do a cruise again, as opposed to going to a destination resort. The destination resort was much more relaxed. I felt like on the cruise we were rushing to get it all in, in the time we had.”
Some see the ports as the destination. We see the ship as the destination. Our next cruise is on Holland where one can get the entire dining room menu delivered to your cabin. We fully intend to have dinner on our balcony every night. No rush.
“I would eat cruise buffet before touching a dish at a fancy restaurant.”
Many complain about catching noro from the buffet but they don’t think a thing about touching menus in the dining room or the doors going into the restrooms.
BTW, this thread is about hot dogs and the cruise ship Oasis. The only time I got ill on a cruise ship was after eating a hotdog on our last cruise on Oasis. Had the dog about 3PM. Bit by bit, hour by hour, I felt less well. Finally about 10PM I had explosive nausea. Over in five minutes. By 1030, I felt great. Actually, I think it was the onions. Wife had a dog and was fine but she didn’t have the onions.
They will if there is a leak. Look at that open space in the ship.
The Titanic was more watertight.
#31 all-inclusive resort in Mexico
That includes the drug lords. Hope you keep your head the next time you visit!
Thank you for your service.
Besides paying their ship-side employees(of which there are like 40,000 or higher) hardly anything, and working them in slave like conditions?
I've been on several; cruises...
The most important part of the cruise is you basically disconnect from your life...your stress level GOES WAY DOWN
No cell phone...
No company email...
No boss...
No company phone calls...
They treat you like a king and queen...every whim you have is pretty much taken care of...
Hard to beat for a week
Nah, I was there before all the drug issues. Wouldn’t go back anytime soon!
Too bad, it was fun. Nice people, as well.
My last cruise I ate shrimp and lobster pretty much all day long, had an endless supply of umbrella drinks, hear a lot of Jimmy Buffet type music, went swimming a lot, gambled a lot and did a lot of laps around the ship to take some of those calories off. Saw a lot of sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. Warm weather. Scantily clad women everywhere. I'm going back very soon.
Years ago, I used to have to pack a suit because they required formal dress at dinner. Don't see that too much anymore but it wasn't a bad thing. In 1987, I was on a cruise and shared a dinner table with Nick Heyward, who was in that band called Haircut 200.
