Ted Cruz has rejected the idea of stopping Donald Trump’s presidential campaign at a brokered convention, saying the move would lead to a ‘revolt’ among voters.

Something everyone here agrees on. I’d like the think the GOP wouldn’t to something so stupid. But I’m not betting they won’t

The Republic Party thinks Cruz is just as bad as Trump. If not worse. This would lead to an opening for whoever the RNC wants.

Which may be why Cruz is going all out to win Florida. I’m guessing that if he loses to Trump in Florida that he drops out and endorses Trump.

No, Cruz is just saying this now because he wants the anti-establishment label. He would be singing a different tune at a brokered convention.

Stone said that Ohio and Florida are already showing all sorts of voting irregularities.

Also, they've had 600 complaints in Texas mostly for Trump vites turning to Rubio that they are looking at.

True yet still deeply sad and sickening. Americans are looking for the next tweet, twit, twat 15 sec insult blurb vs a Reganesque speech of American exceptionalism and inspiration.

Our country has gone to hell

His new strategy is to pull enough votes from Rubio to create a disaster for him in Florida, his home state, and make this a two man Race.

Cruz doesn’t pull votes from Rubio. He pulls them from Trump, IMO.

A conservative that has conviction should be able to clearly explain positions they are for. Sorry but this guy can’t

Neither could Dubya and he was elected twice. Trump is a private citizen who is not a policy wonk. I want a CEO who selects the right kind of advisers like Jeff Sessions and knows how to delegate while setting broad objectives and uses his leadership to get things done. I don't want a micro-manager. It reminds me of a story.

A new 2nd Lieutenant is ordered by the Captain to erect a flagpole. The LT then calls in the First Sargent and asks him and a work detail to accompany him to the site of the flagpole. The LT then goes into great detail with the how deep and wide the hole should be, the materials to used to anchor it, etc. The Sarge interrupts him after this lengthy exposition on how it should be done and says, "Sir, let me show you the Army way on how it is done. Corporal, erect that flagpole."

While the ‘brokered’ convention idea is mostly nonsense, there is a real possibility that the GOP-E would indeed implement a suicide strategy even more extreme than appointing McCain and Romney to take a dive.

It’s truly sickening.

What is truly sickening is sitting back and allowing the GOP to survive and leech off of the people for this long. Trump is telling the serious, thoughtful, non-insulting, get-along-go-along country clubbers to F themselves. Long overdue. GOP will be run by us, the rabble, or it will die.

You’re right...this is his FINAL CHANCE to prove he really is an outsider. If he stays in after losing, then we know he actually does want a brokered convention. If not, then he’s definitely one of us, after all.

Wants the anti establishment label? Either you’ve had your head in the sand the last 6 years, just starting following politics or hell I don’t know what to make of what you just said.

Guess you missed the last few years of hell Cruz has had to endure from the media his own party and the public? He was anti establishment during about the time Trump was supporting PP, giving donations to causes to take down the area Party and during the same time he expressed republican immigration stance was “mean spirited”

I believe you need to check the history books here

Agreed. With NY and NJ coming up, there is no way Cruz wins 70% of the delegates. The only one with a path to the needed number is Trump. If it is a brokered convention, Trump will have 1100 delegates or more and a huge edge in the number of people who voted for him. If the GOPe tries to steal the nomination from Trump, there will be Hell to pay and that is putting it mildly.

Sometimes it feels like Hillary is at the helm of the GOPe ship. I don’t know who I trust less, the GOP entrenched DC elite, or Hillary.

The GOP leadership should be ashamed, but they’re too arrogant for that.

Cruz’ entire oratory is reduced to openly lying, exaggerating and misinformation against TRUMP. He is soo desperate, but the South gives him just enough hope that we are forced to hear his crap at every appearance.

Cruz says TRUMP is *for* Amnesty. Can you believe that whopper?

When it is Cruz who has connections to the Council on Foreign Relations. It is Cruz’ wife who was one of the architects of that stupid paper pushing “friendship” with South America, the Union concept, while she was working for Goldman Sachs at the time, and appointed by GW Bush.

The Bush’s were taken in by Cruz charm, but despised his opportunistic switch from a moderate John Roberts supporter to jumping on the TEA PARTY train all the way to the US Senate.

As for Goldman Sachs, all Cruz roads lead to that main money teat, and more open borders connected to the NA Union agenda.

Cruz knows his only chance is to best Trump on the field of battle as it should be done.

The kingmakers aren’t going with Cruz at a brokered convention.

The people are speaking. The kingmakers and status quo lovers don’t like it, but that’s way it is.

I can assure you that Cruz will not be the choice of a brokered convention. The Washington cartel would not permit it.

Rubio will be strong in South Florida where he is from and will get a lot in the 1-4 corridor. The question is if Trump can get enough elsewhere in the state and be competitive with Rubio in places like the Orlando suburbs.
