The rigidity of conservative idealogues is self-defeating. They really do see conservatism as doing the same things in the same way forever. The better approach is to hold to as many bedrock principles as possible, but to flex in a dynamic approach so that the movement isn’t brittle and easily shattered.
Rigidity sees every innovation as a threat rather than a newly efficient way to preserve core principles. Rigidity insists that an entire package of fringe issues loosely called “acting presidential” is just as important as core issues. They forget that many of our Founders didn’t even acknowledge the divinity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, fought duels with one another, went bankrupt and otherwise acted like real, live, dynamic human beings.
Football teams win because of three yards and a cloud of dust...and they keep moving the chains.
That's how the RATs got us to here...three yards and keep moving the chains.
When you’re hanging out in the ‘hood, is everyone down with John Locke?
“When youre hanging out in the hood, is everyone down with John Locke?”
LOL. I’ll let you know once I find someone in the hood who even knows who John Locke is.
I believe that this is a necessary first step, before anything else is possible.
