I was for Trump when the wall got to 110’ high, but switched when he promised another 10’ higher. 120’ tall is ridiculous. Then I knew he didn't mean it.

I am not really all that in favor of Trump BUT all things considered, other that Cruz - and he 'bothers' me almost as much as Trump - There is really no one in the field that I will 'waste' my time on...I will probably not Vote for P if Trump or Cruz NOT the nominee and will more than likely write in Pat Paulsen (a blast from the past) or Capt Obvious (from the Hotel Ads).

I made up my mind I will NOT vote for the e establishment as a vote for the loser they may put up just keeps the #s close and 'encourages' them.

If they get their collective asses tromped, it quietens the 'message' they try to spit out.

OTOH 4 years of HRC or Bernie will just knock the pegs out more than they already are BUT at least we know who the enemy is OPENLY,not as a shill for GOPe.

That is why it is important (IMNSHO) to at least get out and vote for the Sen/Congressman/locals etc - not just stay home and lose it all.

FROM THE PAST:

I am neither left wing nor right wing. I am middle-of-the-bird. Pat Paulsen

Well, at the very beginning, I was a Scott Walker fan. I *can’t stand* unions, and seeing him battle through that crap he went through in WI impressed me so much that I wanted to see him run for president before the election cycle even started. When he bowed out, I set my eyes on Cruz. I liked that he stood in the face of overwhelming odds in the senate, and though he wasn’t able to get much done due to the establishment, he demonstrated that he meant what he said in his campaign about standing up to Washington.

Trump caught my attention with trepidation at first. I went from rolling my eyes to “Wait a minute... he has a point!” fairly quickly. Still, I kept my main support for Cruz because— and this is going to sound counterintuitive— I felt that his political experience gave him the advantage for how best to implement his policies.

Now we’re getting through the primaries, and I’m sorry to say that it’s brought out the worst in everyone. Trump, for all his brashness and unrefined qualities (which have been growing on me), is clearly the one the establishment sees as the biggest threat, and the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Ted Cruz shut the door for me with his comments after Chicago. Yes, I’ll concede that the words “Donald J. Trump is solely responsible for the chaos in Chicago” didn’t cross his lips, but he wasted no time in politicizing it and giving the perception of aid and comfort, in a manner of speaking, to our political enemies.

I’m on the Trump train, but I’m not quite sold on the idea of Carson for Veep. It’s kind of an obvious suggestion, but Surgeon General or head of HHS seems more applicable to his expertise. I may get tarred and feathered for this, but I kinda like Huckabee for Veep.

Everytime I think of leaving the Trump camp, I look at the others and stick to Trump.

I have supported Cruz all along and still do, but in the past I thought I would vote for Trump if he was nominated. Now I won’t vote for Trump under any circumstance.

I’m from Minnesota so my vote for president doesn’t matter anyway, but I am very concerned about the damage Trump will do down ballot. I hope I’m wrong but if Trump is on the top of the ballot we will lose the Senate and legislatures in states all over the country. He will be worse for the Republicans than Obama has been for the Dems.

I started out strongly for Cruz. But as the campaign when on it was clear to see that Trump had the most conviction AND fortitude to implement conservative solutions. With this latest Trump rally fiasco it’s clear that Cruz will stand where ever he needs to get a political advantage even if it’s with those on the far left.

Most Trump fans on FreeRepublic WERE 100% on board with Cruz years ago fighting DC,.

I was still on board with him until he showed poor decision making by joining at the hip with Glenn Beck and later with the DC establishment.

So please, try to understand Trumps supporters frustration disgust with Cruz.

In the beginning I was for Cruz. Even donated to his campaign, but was so moved by Trumps stand on the wall & immigration. Looked deeper into Cruz vote for Corker bill & TPP. Began watching Trump rallies on the web. Then changed. I donated to the Vets for his event he held the same time as one of the leftist controlled debates.

>>You won’t get very many answers to that question, because there are very few non Trump supporters that are left. We have been mostly chased away. I am about done myself.

To answer your question. I was always Cruz first, with Trump as a strong second. I am now firmly in the “Never Trump” camp, along with the rest of my family.<<

Trump as a conservative favorite is a disgrace. He donated to Clinton, said he was pro choice and recently said PP has done good things. Anyone who wants to take a chance he will govern more conservatively here on this forum, more than the remaining 3 candidates is stuck on stupid as far as I’m concerned. He’s the 2016 version of Ross Perot....with adultery and lack of humility thrown in.

I have a serious and non snarky question.

Lots of crossover Democrats to Trump. THOUSANDS.

What happens when they, not all, but a significant portion show up to the polls in November and vote for Trump, but down ticket for Democrats across the country. Trump could lose AND we could lose the House and Senate.

and to the argument that anyone could beat Hillary, well maybe so, but there’s a good chance she’s not the nominee and they pull out a dark horse. What then?

I’m REALLY asking, not snarking.

What you said here is exactly what will happen, and why Clinton encouraged Trump to run

With due respect, I do not understand what seems to be your opinion of Cruz and Trump as essentially equivalent. Cruz apparently a corporatist, and perhaps a Dominionist hell bent with his wife’s help on a North American Union with open borders and a common currency and the ultimate demise of American sovereignty. He is GOPe on steroids while talking outsider.
