Florida voters "fed up" with Trump and Clinton speak out CBS News March 18, 2016, 7:05 AM

Voters in the key swing state of Florida are sharing their frustration about their options in the 2016 presidential race. A focus group comprised of Republican and Democratic voters who oppose both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump offered a revealing look at the anger toward the front-runners in both parties.

Clinton and Trump share the distinction of being among the least-liked candidates.

"I would rather not vote than vote for either one of these candidates," one woman told CBS News contributor and Republican strategist Frank Luntz, who led the group at the Orlando Public Library. "And it pains me to say that, because I feel it's my right as a member of this democratic society to be able to vote. But given those two candidates, I can't vote for either one of them."

"Why none of the above?" Luntz asked.

"I just think that none of the-- either party doesn't deserve my vote. They're not giving me what I feel we need as a country," another woman explained. "So why give the support to someone who's not gonna do what I need them to do for me and my family?"

"I don't believe Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton really care about the American people. I don't trust either of them. I don't think they are presidential," one man said.

Those voters lost in Florida. Why listen to them?

Many of these people will inevitably vote once their 15 seconds of whining fame is up, and the reality of the next 4 years sets in.

“I would rather not vote than vote for either one of these candidates,”

40% of the electorate doesn’t vote, no problem.

If Trump or Cruz isn’t nominated I’ll be in the same boat.

Luntz received money from Rubio. Luntz is a loser.

People bored and gullible enough to participate in a focus group with leading questions, confirmation bias and a Skinnerian eagerness to please are of no interest to me.

It also remains a mystery why something so preconceived and predictable is regarded as news by a so called news organization.

This isn’t even ‘man bites dog’ stuff...it’s more like ‘man thinks about biting dog.’

People whom are uncomfortable with Messrs. Trump, Cruz, or Sanders or with Mrs. Clinton are welcomed to write-in a candidate of their choice this autumn.

the difference between them is...

people just THINK they dislike Trump, because they have “heard” all these bad things about him.

People KNOW they dislike Hillary.

Once people actually see Trump speak and talk (probably during the debates with Hillary) they will decide then... you know... Trump doesn’t seem like the monster the media said he was... and will vote for him like they voted for Reagan for similar reasons.

Agreed on Luntz - and your sentiment.
It’s nearly impossible for the fans of either Clinton or Trump to understand.
Both are extremely polarizing people. My dislike for Hillary goes back to the first time I saw her. She was a speaker at my sister’s graduation from UCA. I saw her going up to the podium and someone said ‘that’s the governor’s wife’ and I just thought ‘YUCK’. Greasy brown hair pulled back and face that could stop a truck, or at least look like it had stopped several trucks. Her voice was as grating in ‘84 as it is now.

And this is news, why? How about a focus group comprised of voters who support either Clinton or Trump? Oh wait, that was this last weeks primary.

True.

Dislike for Hillary is more of an ancient and lingering hatred, something deeply embedded in peoples’ psyches over the last few decades. That dislike isn’t going anywhere.

Dislike for Trump on the other hand is fresh, novel, and malleable.

Please stop comparing Trump to Reagan. It does a horrible disservice to both of them.

Trump lacks the oratorical skills of Reagan.
Trump lacks the governmental experience of Reagan.
Trump lacks Reagan’s long term convictions.
I could go on but instead I’ll actually compliment trump.

Reagan did not have Trump’s business background
Reagan did not have Trump’s money
Reagan did not have Trump’s ability to make people believe whatever they want to believe about him.

And finaly - Reagan had great hair! (I’m just about bald,so I’m allowed to pick on that.)

Luntz is a putz, however the voter's sentiments have some truth........

This is Florida where Trump won every county and had more votes than Cruz and Rubio combined. Luntz is just looking for disgruntled people and pretending they represent a majority.
