An event hosted by METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich at the University of California-Berkeley earlier this month was interrupted by liberal students who stormed the stage in protest of subpar conditions endured by contract workers on campus. One student allegedly assaulted Salesforce.com founder Marc Benioff during the incident.
Benioff was on campus on March 2 to participate in the public forum intended to explore the creative culture of the Bay Area through conversations with other leading cultural figures from the community, including Ulrich and the drummer's father, Torben Ulrich, who at 87 is still active in music, film and poetry.
Members of the Student Labor Committee, the group that crashed the event, reportedly urged a boycott of all speakers until the administration agreed to their demands.

A University student who forgets why he attended university in the first place.
All 12 years of it...
“he is superior to all of them.”
Sorry, I’m gonna have to go with John Bonham, Four Sticks and Moby Dick just hasn’t been topped, I’d even take Gingers ‘Toad’ over Lars,

Best ? Nobody is “ best “ . Favorite ? Subjective ...From a drummer in Japan ...
A non STEM major.
Ah, Students at Univ. Cal. Berkley, the “civilized society”. (sarc)
Subjective indeed. There are people out 5here who have called Buddy Rich A “hack” I’ve seen it with my own eyes.
Death Magnetic is pretty good
The 3rd photo down shows 4 guys. The one with the hair bun and no socks and short pants. I wonder if he will get a job at Saleforce...
Do any of these types look in the mirror and think they look good? Or has all the marijuana they smoked make them think they look good?
Neil Peart.
Free speech on campuses is dead. It’s all about hard left thug rule now.
And, I've always thought Lars was just mediocre. Not talking about talent, just style of playing. I've always liked the style from guys like Tommy Lee. The Motley Crue tracks are a LOT more fun to play... the kick/tom combos he uses a lot are awesome and make a ton of noise... to my wife's displeasure. I'm using a Roland TD-20 nowadays so I'm confined to headphones most of the time... not nearly as fulfilling as using twin monitors at full volume. I may be old, but I still like to make a serious racket when the house is empty
Yup Lars is overrated. Neil Peart. Dennis chambers, Tony royster junior, Carter Beaufort. Ray luzier, Matt garska, Blake Richardson all better than Lars and this guy Alex rudinher is the greatest that most people have never heard of. https://youtu.be/BqspUltAOf8
Same here.
Polk Audio towers and 200W of heavy, old Kenwood. Probably 60lbs.
Recently put on Black Sabbath 13...loud.
Saw my neighbor the next day...he was chagrined. He came over to listen with me and drink a beer, but all the knocking and doorbell in the world could not be heard.
All that said, I've seen Tommy Lee with Motley Crew and thought his drumming mediocre at best. Same with the entire band.
But when Lars is busy, he's really busy...syncopating the bases against each other while doing everything else right.
You actually have to watch him on video...live is too distant...some albums attrit beats they don't like, or diminish the range and volume.
Can’t say that I have much sympathy for Lars, at all.
:)
Lars Ulrich can barely keep time. He slows down then goes faster and the band just tries to keep up. JMO
No mention of drummers is valid without Ron Bushy.
In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.....baby.
Keith Moon is the best drummer of all time. Kneel before Zod, heretic!
