Why it’s time for a Trump revolution
New York Post ^ | 3/19/2016 | Michael Goodwin

My friends are worried about me. They insist something is not right and suggest prayer, counseling, even rehab. “Take a break,” they urge. “Get away for a few days and clear your head.” They are wise and kind, and it would be foolish to dismiss their concerns. Truth be told, there are moments when I doubt myself. Am I making a huge mistake? Am I losing my mind? Perhaps I am. My friends say that’s the only possible explanation for the fact that I might support Donald Trump for president. The insanity defense is all that’s left now that the smart set has declared that it’s immoral and indecent to even think about voting for Trump. OK, call me immoral and indecent as well as crazy, because I’m thinking about it.

at his age and stage of life, I see him as a guy who is willing to sacrifice his comfort in favor of his kids’ and grandkids’ futures.

This is what endears Trump to me. The media is doing their normal hit job intending to tear him down, as they do with all GOP candidates, but he is having none of it, and is putting them in their place daily. They don't like it, but I LOVE it.

Of course he's mad at Trump. He's jealous. One of his former supporters is plagiarizing his schtick and having more success. That is going to anger someone like Romney. He got beat at his own game.

Has anyone heard about Trump’s sister getting a threatening letter?

Not just his sister getting threats. His son got an envelope with white powder. Funny how the media does not talk about that! Cruz condemned Trump but he is not anywhere to be found when Trump’s family is threatened with serious harm.

I knew about the powder. A friend mentioned the threat on FB. No other details. This is getting scary.

We have Ted Cruz, the most conservative candidate since Ronald Reagan, and reviled by mainstream Republicans as a potential candidate - and you support a candidate who a few short years ago was helping Harry Reid fend off a challenge from the Tea Party.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO BASIS for believing Trump is in any way, shape or form a conservative - beyond his telling you that he is. He has supported - and continues to support - big government programs like government health care. You WANT to believe so badly that you suppress all cognitive dissonance; It is reminiscent of the behavior of a “mark” in a con game.

Supporting Trump - based on this “anti-establishment” hysteria - is LUNACY. That is the real “Trump Derangement Syndrome” - that gullible people are willing to bet the future of the Republic on the words of a sideshow clown.

sparklite2 is correct. Don't search for the whole title, pick one significant word from the title and search on it instead. Here is an example. The search found your post and also the earlier one by Mensius.

A comment at The Conservative Treehouse that makes perfect sense:

Here’s a little inside baseball from someone who actually knows the truth: the GOPe dislikes Cruz NOT because he’s an outsider, but because he’s an INSIDER who decided the best way to advance himself was to bite the hand that fed him. Let’s just say I am very close to someone in the GOPe machine and I’ll leave it at that.

When Ted worked for Bush, he was angling for a bigger position than he got. He actually wanted to be the Attorney General.

He thought he had more pull than he actually did, more juice because of some of his Texas connections. His marriage to Heidi was supposed to solidify his position because she was actually held in higher regard than Ted within the Texas/GOPe sphere. He was seen by the insiders as over ambitious, an opinion that was only ENFORCED by his reach to be named AG.

So Ted decided since he knew the ins and outs of the GOPe (insofar as the GOP and Bushes were one and the same), and since he couldn’t advance any further within that sphere, that he would run against them.

He ran for Senate against a GOPe favorite and won. He hoped this would show the GOPe that he was a serious contender and that they would welcome him back into the fold. It backfired, mostly because of Ted’s outsider rhetoric.

Now Ted chose to run for POTUS, which on its surface was a slap in the face to Jeb Bush and the GOPe. In truth, it was an olive branch by Ted to the GOPe.

Why? Because he was there to split the conservative vote in order to help Jeb win. He was never supposed to be in this position, but if it got down to him and Jeb, the fact that Ted isn’t natural born was going to come out, forcing him to drop out, leaving Jeb and his millions in donor money as the last man standing.

Why do you think Jeb always spoke about winning without the base and losing the primaries to win the nomination? It all makes sense now, doesn’t it?

Trump was the wildcard they didn’t expect. Ted was sent to cozy up to him with a non-aggression pact, but Trump was no dummy. He kept the Canadian Ted thing in his back pocket to use when needed.

I could go on but bottom line, the GOPe is warming to Ted because he’s is not actually an enemy, but a prodigal son who tried to earn his way back into the fold by helping Bush.

Unlike Trump, Cruz actually understands and respects the Constitution - and hasn’t flip-flopped his entire ideology, undergoing a convenient foxhole conversion to conservatism just in time to run for President.

And you cite “Conservative Treehouse” as if it wasn’t entirely populated by Trumpanzees...

Interesting that you’re attacking the messenger....not to mention calling names.

How about sticking to the issues.

I was never buying the “outsider” premise given his long time ties to Bush Inc. but considering the scenario you described of an ambitious insider who refused to “wait his turn” by running against the party favorite Dewhurst makes a lot of sense.

My previous theory about him being a stealth candidate as a backup for Jeb doesn’t seem as likely after seeing the info you provided although with these people, who knows?

In either case, now that he’s in the position he’s in, I think the sudden acceptance is them making lemonade since they got lemons, provided he made the deal to let them be in charge just in case he wins.

Good info, thanks for passing it on.

You're welcome.

It's like a magic act...things are not what they appear to be. Apparently the person who gave that information is absolutely in a position to know. Sundance knows who it is but obviously the person wants their anonymity. And the other thing that Sundance said is that Trump knows all about it.
