Yep the liberal craziness is strong with this one.
There are no bad people, just people who make bad decisions.
MFLR.
I watched season 1. No interest in season 2. Same reasons as the OP has.
You are missing out big time on season 2. Bernthal absolutely nails it as Frank Castle / Punisher.
lol.. OK I will give it a try.
Bernthal is a very under rated actor. He was great in Fury as the tank gun loader.
I just can’t watch him. It’s the earlobes, man.
Superman has had a Code Against Killing since at least the end of WWII. It is often a plot point. The idea was that he was so powerful that if he could kill with it, where would it end?
Regarding the point about Daredevil bringing crime into Manhattan (West side manhattan? Why not try the Bronx or Brooklyn?). Batman is CERTAINLY a net generateor of crime, attracing every wackadoo to Gotham City in both Dark Knight and Camp-60’s versions.
I agree that Daredevil is a negligible Superhero who brings nothing to the table. Reminds me of the original Dr. Midnite.
I watched the whole second series and declared it stupid. I just watch way too much TV.
That’s a new one... well de gustibus non est disputandum.
I don't understand the dark turn so many comics are taking when they become films. For example, I hate that since Michael Keaton on, Batman now wears body armor. He doesn't need body armor. He's Batman. He moves so fast, you can't draw a bead on him. Batman and the other mortal super-heroes like Daredevil always faced off guys with guns in the comics. Today, the filmmakers over-emphasize the danger factor of urban crime.
Full disclosure: I haven’t had my full cup of morning coffee yet, and I haven’t seen one episode of the show. But just what is the main idea of this piece?
Daredevil has always been about the struggle of one man to make his neighborhood better either in the courtroom by day or in a red suit by night. But the author would rather the decent, Christian hero just throw his hands up and let psycho Frank Castle kill everyone he deems deserving of it? When he first came on the scene in the 1970s, there was no question that the Punisher was not on the side of the angels.
I have most of DD’s first series. To me, Matt was always the bright light in a very dark place (which made his nom de plume somewhat ironic). If you remove that element, damn that’s a depressing series/show. But I guess that is what sells today.
I agree. Have you seen this short? Thomas Jane wanted to make another Punisher film but they never gave him a script that he cared for.
D’Onofrio stole Season 1 too. I watched Season one just to see what the Kingpin of Crime was going to do that episode
I dunno, I kinda like DareDevil.
I did too until this last episode with the Punisher. Where even the most evil murderer “has some good” in them.
He’s pretty ineffective too. Amazing how people fly 20 feet and land on steps, only to get up and keep fighting.
