Trump’s Virtual Lynch Mob
National Review ^ | April 12, 2016 | Ian Tuttle

Posted on 04/12/2016 6:51:08 PM PDT by reaganaut1

Call it a high-tech lynching.

In the wake of Donald Trump’s being shut out in Colorado — final delegate count: Ted Cruz, 34; Trump, 0 — his fans have formed virtual mobs, and on Sunday a particularly passionate Twitter user tweeted out the home address and phone number of Steve House, chairman of the Colorado GOP.

House’s personal information has been retweeted more than 1,100 times. He says he’s received some 3,000 phone calls, most of them uncomplimentary:

Meanwhile, the same Trump partisan also tweeted information for the state’s national committeewoman, Lily Nuñez, and committeeman, George Leing. Of course, the brave Twitter user in question did all of this anonymously, and lots of other brave people have applauded — also anonymously.

The unsavory Trump fans in question appear to be multiplying: Something similar is already afoot in Indiana, which hasn’t even voted yet. Kyle Babcock, an at-large delegate selected at one of this weekend’s nine congressional-district conventions, made the mistake of explaining to the Indianapolis Star that he would not back Trump, because he believes Cruz stands a better chance against Hillary Clinton in November.

...

There is no indication that the Trump campaign was involved in these threats, but make no mistake: This effort started at the top. After floundering in the Centennial State, Trump took to Twitter to peddle his usual conspiracy theories: “The people of Colorado had their vote taken away from them by the phony politicians. . . . This will not be allowed!” With the help of sympathetic media outlets — the Drudge Report suggested that Iraqi elections were more fair than Colorado’s delegate-selection process) — his false allegations gained traction.

If Trump is an example of someone who CAN NOT get things done, then we're all doomed.

Obviously, you have less than no idea what an "elitist" is.

You try to post the usual tripe of the day/week/month, but are incapable of even getting those words out correctly.

You are neither a conservative, nor capable of "thinking".

I call BS on the histrionics from House. If he’s been called 3000 times in 2 days, that means his phone rings every minute. I highly doubt his story, especially since I’ve seen no proof it’s even happening. If it was me, I’d have video and put it on YouTube. Otherwise, it never happened.

Sure believe what you want. Conservative my butt. That is why he said he aligns more with the dems than the repubs.

I dont trust him and I dont think he can get done what he says he can. Colorado is just a example of him failing to delegate the delegate management to someone. He failed and failed big.

You are neither a conservative, nor capable of "thinking".

Trump supports abortion. Trump Supprorts taxes on the Rich. Trump supports Hillary for President. Trump supports Hairy Reed. Theses are all his positions.

Trump is not a conservative.

Do this - show me a quote where Donald the Duck defends the Constitution.

Whatever you say ...you’re busy trying to trash Trump , but let’s talk big picture reality here ...Colorado just got handed to the DIMs on a silver platter ...fact- the only way to stop it is if Trump is the nominee ...

You're not stating his current positions, nor even most of his older ones correctly.

At every rally he Trumps talks about his support of the first and second Amendments! That is not a lie, nor is he pandering.

Obviously you have less than no knowledge of what Trump stands for, believes, and wants to do as president.

OTOH, neither do you know the REAL Ted, what he stands for verses what he actually does.

Trumps negatives are huge. Here is a article that shows them.

http://www.gallup.com/opinion/polling-matters/188177/trump-image-among-democrats-independents-negative-gop-candidate.aspx

But you most likely wont even read it because you are not open to the truth.

If you do tell me how he over come those negatives to win?

“Why do you keep posting from this blog without commenting?”

I suspect it’s something like Rolling Stone magazine.
No one subscribes anymore to RS so they send free magazines to boost their masthead figures.
National Review will soon probably start sending free copies of their rag to former subscribers on old mailing lists. Then I can get that parrot I’ve been wanting ...

NR: “Why don’t the villagers like us anymore? Could it be that unfortunate article where we blamed American workers for dodging work, selling their daughters, brandishing assault weapons while smoking crack—and refusing to accept Our Vision*?

*25 years of bad Uniparty/NWO trade policies, cheap labor, exporting jobs/closing American factories, neutered GOP candidates, endless wars, aping Europe’s failed immigration policies, “working with” Obama ...

Anything from NR is tainted and indefensible.

Cross over dems vote for Trump but when only republicans can vote Trump get crushed.

That's not quite it. As a Trump supporter explained to me, "good" Dems crossed over to help Trump win two districts in Wisconsin. But "bad" Dems crossed over in the rest of the state to help Cruz win because he'll be easier to beat in November.

Honest Injun.

The Curz folks take a literal dump on the forum for a few days before every primary. We can expect to see it again this weekend leading up to Tuesday.

Everything is fine, as long as Trump folks remain silent and allow them to get away with it.

Boy, the moment we start giving them grief for doing it, all hell breaks loose, and of course it’s all the Trump supporter’s fault.

The Cruz team has just about turned this forum into a septic tank.

It’s my opinion they deserve to get ever ounce of push-back they deserve.

If they want to call that Trump goon squads, so be it.

There’s a new game in town boys. The GOPe does not rule this forum and never will.

It’s about to get a lot worse, we can count on the Cruz folks to make sure of that.

I would urge people to not call a delegate for any political reason. It's just bad juju all around, bad for your soul, serves no positive purpose, will not be persuasive, reflects badly on you personally, and indirectly on whatever side you support.

Someday you might be a delegate, so just do a bit of 'shoe on the other foot" thinking, in case you can't picture the effect of your action by normal reasoning processes.

I hold that position to the extent that if I knew a person was calling a delegate, and trying to be anonymous about it, that I'd disclose their identity to the delegate and would agree to testify against the caller in court, in a civil or criminal trial.

Some people think there are no consequences for immoral behavior. Just because it seems to be the norm now does not mean it will ever be so, and it appears the times are changing back towards normalcy. Immoral behavior SHOULD have consequences.

Sure that is what happen. Can you say how every person voted in Wisconsin? No you cant can you? But everyone that voted in Colorado was a affiliate of the republican party.

Thems the facts folks.

Wow. Talk about disenfranchisement.

The Soviet elections were like that: you could vote for or against the candidate, but you never had more than one candidate to choose from.

Yet, according to an article from August, the rules set in place then were supposed to leave the delegates unbound, so that they would all be free to go to the convention and vote for the front runner. This was because binding them early in the process meant that some of them would be bound to candidates who were no longer in the race by the time the convention hit.

It looks like the CO GOP is so concerned about keeping outsiders out that they don’t even bother with trying to maintain a facade of voter’s choice.
