Serious Question for Cruz Supporters (VANITY)
04/14/2016 | Les Dowrey

Posted on 04/14/2016 12:42:16 PM PDT by LesDowrey

If Ted Cruz were to win the GOP Nomination on the 2nd ballot or further down the line, he will have won the GOP nomination based on STOPPING Trump, not SUPPORTING Ted. That's not really a great way to win is it? Also, if he couldn't beat Trump at the ballot box, how will he beat Hillary?

It is much easier when you have the power of the presidency.

Except we have that pesky Constitution that limits the power of the Executive Branch. So how will he force the state parties to change how they select their candidates to run in the general election?

The things his supporters tell themselves, I guess

Uh Huh. that’s why most of his ground game delegates consists primarily of State party officers, large donors and those faithful to the GOPe. NeverTrump is not Pro-Cruz. Heck even Cruz is not pro-Cruz any more. Cruz is running on the position hes blocking Trump. Cruz is nothing more then a NeverTrump place holder selling out his gullible followers.

>> First of all, with respect to “double digits”, you’re behind the times, because there was a recent “hypothetical matchup” poll which showed a neck-and-neck race between Trump and Hillary. <<

Trump people are always claiming there’s some poll out there. I just doublechecked RealClearPolitics. Last polls shows Cruz and Clinton within the margin of error, but Clinton beating Trump by 10 (CBS) and 7 (Fox) points.

>> But that’s beside the point, because all such “push polls”, 7 months out, before the conventions, no matter who is “ahead”, are total garbage, and they are known to be ball everyone in the industry. <<

Oh, the great conspiracy that every poll is a Democratic push poll. Yes, it’s a dynamic race, and yes, everyone knows that. But they certainly show that Trump is presently far more unpopular than Cruz.

You know what? I would never say vote for the guy that does best in the polls. Vote for the most conservative plausibly electable candidate. But I’m answering a thread asking how can I vote for Cruz when Trump is more popular. And Cruz is the one who is more conservative.

>> They are “boob bait for bubbas”. The same polls back in 1980 had Reagan 25 points behind Carter at this juncture. <<

Earlier in the cycle. And they weren’t lying then, either. Before the days of the internet and the 24-hour news cycle, Reagan was mostly known for crashing the 1976 coronation of Gerald Ford. He was written off by people who had never heard him speak as a befuddled actor. He proved them wrong when they first heard him speak in the general election against Carter.

Also, the 1980-1982 recession hadn’t really started; Carter hadn’t shown how incompetent he was dealing with Iran; his “malaise” speech was still unwritten; and Kennedy hadn’t eviscerated him from the left. His approval rating was rallying at the start of 1980, and was approaching 60%.

By April, Reagan had already pulled to within 7 percent of Carter... and that was with Anderson pulling 19% of the vote, mostly from moderates.

By enforcing the laws? Gosh, does that go over your head, or are you just trying to set up an impossible scenario that doesn’t exist?

What laws were broken in the primary process?

***Not even close! Reagan was endearing, charming, and funny...none of which can be said for Ted Cruz. Not by any stretch of the imagination.***

Nevertheless...... the media poured out the “Reagan can’t win, he’s too conservative” line day after day.

I voted for the man..... I was there... it was the first election that I was politically aware and not a media-fed dummy.

That's not the point...the media is irrelevant to my argument. Reagan was a very, very likable man. Cruz is the exact opposite.

The intimation here is that Trump is likeable..... have you looked at his “disapprove” numbers?

Schaef21 asked:

“The intimation here is that Trump is likeable..... have you looked at his “disapprove” numbers?”

Yes there are approval numbers there for our eyes to see at his rallies and who is voting for him, at the massive support and winning position he has. Oh, you think people are going to belive bogus polls over their own eyes? Sounds like a NeverTrump Rino supporter insulting our intelligence again.

You have no idea who I am or who I support. I would vote for a monkey over any “I’ve got my hand in your pocket” Democrat.

I have grave concerns about Trump.... he gets more shrill and more unlikeable every day that passes. His schtick is wearing thin and he’d better figure something else out.

My response was to a guy that said Cruz was unlikeable and I merely pointed out that Trump was in a worse position.

***approval numbers there for our eyes to see at his rallies ***

If they were the only ones voting Trump would be in good shape. None of us Republicans believed the polls in 2012 yet we got Obama for four more years.

Take off the rose-colored glasses.

BTW - The word RINO applies better to a Trumpster than a Cruzer.... his conservative bonafides are unquestioned. Can you say the same thing for The Donald?

Yet, you cited such obviously bogus polls that anybody with eyes can see are push polls from objective evidence. That’s insulting our intelligence.

As far as NeverTrump Rino supporter., That’s apparent from still thinking Cruz has a chance when common sense tells you his great Ground game is nothing more then the GOPe NeverTrump agenda using State Party officers, donors and party loyalists who are not Pro-Cruz. Cruz does not run on positions any more since the south, its all NeverTrump. With all the smugness of the GOPe bragging they will pick the nominee not the voters its asinine to still be assuming they are helping Cruz win the nomination.

Yeah, you’re right Mechanicos....

Every single one of those polls is a “Push Poll”.’

The one doing the insulting is you.... I’ve never accused you of anything but your responses are always dripping with accusations.

I will vote for Trump if he is the nominee. Will you vote for Cruz or stay home and give us Hildabeast and a ruinous Supreme Court for our children and grandchildren?

The GOPe does not have a dog left in the fight..... Kasich can’t get it done.

Cruz is a loyal conservative and you Trumpsters act like he’s Mitt Romney.

Give me a break.

Yes EVERY one of the polls that says Hillary beats anything is PUSH poll and common sense tells you that. The only way shes leading Sanders now is with Corruption. She cannot draw crowds and she has higher unfavorables (sic) across the board then with a steaming pile. This is Hillary we are discussing, not somebody who people like or want.

A loyal conservative?

What is he conserving? When did Bush’s DC Insider Harvard trained lawyer turn into this alleged “loyal conservative?

- In 1998, Cruz served as private counsel for Congressman John Boehner during Boehner’s lawsuit against Congressman Jim McDermott for releasing a tape recording of a Boehner telephone conversation.

- Cruz joined the Bush–Cheney campaign in 1999 as a domestic policy adviser, advising President George W. Bush on a wide range of policy and legal matters, including civil justice, criminal justice, constitutional law, immigration, and government reform. There he met his wife, Heidi Nelson Cruz, another policy adviser who works for Goldman Sachs.

- Cruz assisted in assembling the Bush legal team, devise strategy, and draft pleadings in the Florida and U.S. Supreme Courts during the 2000 Florida presidential recounts, winning twice in the U.S. Supreme Court.

- After President Bush took office, Cruz served as an associate deputy attorney general in the U.S. Justice Department and as the director of policy planning at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.

Globalists are not conservative. Cruz is a Globalist. Therefore hes not a conservative.

Would a conservative help draft Bush’s NAFTA bill?
Would a conservative vote FOR the patriot Act?
Would a Conservative team up with Ryan to push TPP?
would a conservative vote FOR TPA?
would a conservative try to increase H1B visas by 500%?
would a conservative try to double the number of Muslims?
would a conservative side with BLM protestors against police?
would a conservative hand out gift baskets to illegals at the border?
would a conservative lie to his supporters about the fact the GOPe is providing his delegates and he will not win nomination?

WHAT EVERY VOTER NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT TED CRUZ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXcYCwaBKnQ&app=desktop

Yes Cruz would be more of the same obviously.

OK, so you just made my point. You don't think someone can make up 7-10 points in 7 months???

And, you don't think someone can LOSE 7-10 points in 7 months?

You Cruz fanboys are running out of ammo, and all you've been able to do, for weeks, is spout Establishment/Media/GOPe propaganda in an effort to prop up your failed candidate.

That ship has sailed, and it's time to wake up...

I can give you a list twice that long for Trump....

INCLUDING donating to Hildabeast and every other damn baby-killing, money stealing, anti-Christian Democrat he could think of.

*****Globalists are not conservative. Cruz is a Globalist. Therefore hes not a conservative.*****

People who donate to Democrats aren’t conservative. Therefore Trump is not a conservative.

Cruz has a 100% conservative rating based on his voting record in the Senate.

I’ll vote for the Republican nominee no matter who he is... will you?

Nice talkin’ to ya, Mechanicos. I think I’ve wasted enough of my time.

When you are dishonest you negate all that you write. You knew before posting Trump has given MUCH more to GOP then Dems and that Cruz is one of those he gave too yet you still pushed that lie by omission hes a Democrat only donor.

As far as Cruz is a Conservative, people with brains do not look to others opinions to determine that. Especially when they are a manufactured authority that has been Wrong on so many of those they rated such as the similar case of John Roberts.

A Globalist is not a Conservative. Cruz is a Globalist.
I have posted to you proof of this. So exactly what is he conserving working to destroy our sovereignty?
