I would interpret that as an act of war.

Almost all internet traffic, domestic and international, is sent over fiber optic cables. This would be a real disaster.

Every time these bullies violate or threaten international waters’ internationality and that the US takes a step against it, we become the provocators, imperialists etc. and all the coward nations say and do nothing. It is back to Hitler’s games and testings.

I would interpret that as an act of war.

Before you go to war, you should be able to prove that the enemy did the attack. How do you prove this one? Circumstantial evidence of Russky subs nearby isn't really proof enough.

Now when our comsats get taken out, it'll be obvious who fired off the ASATs.

I’m sure every major power has the cables and satellites of every other power in their sights at all times.

In the event of a hot war, all those things will be blown up at the touch of a button

A strongly worded letter at that.

Along with a complaint to the UN.

raising concerns among some American military and intelligence officials that the Russians might be planning to attack those lines in times of tension or conflict.

And then again, maybe not.

Think of the timing.............
We have approximately 9 months before a new (and hopefully more interested in the country’s wellbeing) president is inaugurated. A strike in October would give the POSOTUS a reason to cancel the elections and declare martial law.

This activity and others by the Russians makes the overthrow of the US a real possibility.

We won’t be able to access the UK Daily Mail during a time of war, where will we get the truth?

Kidding, sorta.
