Why the hatred?
me

Posted on 04/26/2016 6:06:22 PM PDT by tarawa

Why are we seeing so much hatred this time around in regard to our potential candidates? I don't care for Trump and certainly would have trouble voting for him, but you would not catch me saying the sort of things about him or his supporters that we usually reserve for those trying to rend the country in two and destroy what is left of our liberties. The things I see said about Cruz and those who support him serve no good purpose, and yes similar things are said about Trump and his supporters, but not to nearly the same extent. Aren't we supposed to be on the same side here? This has gone beyond disagreement into absolute hatred. This is the reason the liberals win elections, because conservatives become so fractured that they cannot compete. The GOP left conservatives behind a long time ago, but with this bickering and infighting, all we are doing is letting them destroy us.

Hatred? Good question. I think it is anger with a huge love of America underneath.

In 2012 on the November night of the election results, a pick up truck driver was super mad about the election results and was driving recklessly, flooring it, weaving lanes on the 101 freeway in Los Angeles and just flat-out fuming with anger that Obama won again. I was super upset too about Obama winning again made a note to drive safely.

“Cruz went willingly over to the side of GOP leadership and he deserves every bit of scorn heaped upon him.”

You do realize that the minute the GOPe puts their support behind Trump, Trump then becomes establishment. Best thing for Trump is to win the nomination after a long, dirty fight and then destroy Hillary while the GOPe tries to sabotage Trump.

Under that logic, Trump would become a Communist if endorsed by Communist Party USA. Trump would not become part of the GOPe, unless he wanted to become part of it.

The best formula has never changed: Trump/Cruz.

I see no chance of that, Cruz is still burning bridges so screw him.

I honestly think it's Cruz. He's built this more Conservative than thou cult around himself and his followers have done and said stuff that we'd reserve for Democrats. They've ripped organizations like eagle eye forum apart and justified cheating on a massive scale.

When the Cruz cult started I had no ill will to Cruz followers but they would not stop with the insults, put downs and holier than thou crap. Anyone who didn't show total devotion to Cruz was attacked unmercifully. It's creepy as all get out. The more they lost the worse the insults became. And the endless lies. Cruz people are spreading rumors that FR is a racist hate site because it doesn't support Cruz. I've been called a racist, liberal, fascist, Nazi, pervert, ect all by people I've chatted with for years all because I didn't support Cruz. To this day Cruz supporters continue to blame people like me instead of considering the mistakes Ted Cruz made and continues to make that lost my support.

Cruz needs the seasoning

I have a great rub and a pit that will get him done in 12 hours. Then I'll throw him away and eat the grate.

If you’d asked this question yesterday, or tomorrow, I might answer.

But tonite you’re trying to rain on my parade and so I can’t be bothered, except to say...

Get on the Trump Train or get off the tracks

Why can’t folks disagree but remain civil?

Because the stupidity on FR is greater than ever. I'll vote to keep Hillary out, PERIOD. Anything else is abject stupidity. The incivility here has been, well effin stupid too. The a-hole in people really comes out, and you can tell those who are more a-hole than others. Childish idiots.

Wow! Thank you to so many who have put in so much effort to prove my point. I did not say I was a Cruz supporter. In fact, all I said was that I have difficulty supporting Trump. Rather than replying with logical arguments as to why Trump is a better candidate, I have all sorts who wish to make personal attacks against me for not falling into line with what they feel should be the obvious choice. I bring up a simple question, excusing no sides for their behaviour, and rather than act as an adult, we see petulant children resorting to ad hominem attacks. You are starting to sound like those college students who view any opinion that differs from their own to be an attack. Is free thought a micro-agression now? Are my questions invading your safe space? Evidently any true debate is dead for Trump supporters, because you cannot go against Holy Writ. Obstinacy such as this will surely deliver the country into the hands of those who hate it.

The difference is like night and day. When it comes to backing Trump the establishment does not have a choice other than the breakup of the party and massive losses in congress. Trump is now the one doing the favor for the GOP. Cruz was losing and came to the GOP hat in hand to sell us down the river.
