The Republican Party is now more hated than it's been in 24 years, new research shows - and it might be the fault of Donald Trump.

In October, 37 percent of people polled had a favorable view of the Republican Party and 58 percent viewed it negatively. Now those numbers are 33 percent in favor and 62 percent against, according to data released by the Pew Research Center Thursday.

That puts the party at its lowest point since 1992 - the latest point in a drop that has coincided with the rise of Trump.

Trump’s just the messenger, not the cause.

There are many of us Reps who hate the current GOP leadership, which ignores our views and pursues its own agenda. I am sure that contributes to the numbers.

The Guardian needs to focus on the UK’s problems and leave us to handle ours with Trump!

This is the typical rant against Trump, we will see and hear from around the world and America until we win in November.

The GOPe is to blame for its own problems.

The message here is that gullible primary voters are being led by the clever Trump.

What the author of the article may have missed is that the people whose opinion has switched are REPUBLICAN VOTERS for the past 20-30 years who are totally ticked off at their own party. They aren’t going to become Democrats. They just want to change the GOP.

The whole kit and kaboodle, GOP house, Senate, RNC and most if not all Republican state organizations, along with the principal donors and K-street controllers. It took a village to get us here.

Ones like Boehner, McConnell, Graham, McCain, and Cochran probably have far more to do with something like that than Trump.

Trump is NOT the cause of the hatred … he’s a symptom of it.

The GOPe is definitely on my hate list, but the Rat Party I hate a 100 times worse. And I will vote for the GOP nominee; I would never ever, ever, ever vote for Hitlery or Comrade Sanders.

Having been lifelong Republican, I now am disgusted with the party because of what they are doing to Trump.

I hate the GOP more than the democrats these days, but it’s not Trump’s fault. It’s to his credit for helping expose them.

The RNC under Priebus has asked us each year to vote for X and they will then be able do Y. They never do a damn thing after we give them X. They take and take and do nothing.

The worse thing to ever happen to the Republican party is that people believed what they stood for and voted them into a majority in Congress.

The truth was exposed, they are not the opposition party no more than the Washington Senators are a real basketball team against the Globetrotters.

The GOP betrayed all those that had voted for them in the past and because they are a majority they can not hide their support for many of the policies of the left. That is why people hate the Republicans.

They are backstabbing lying cowards.

When this election is over, I hope the GOP goes the way of the WHIG party.

Having been lifelong Republican, I now am disgusted with the party because of what they are doing to Trump.

I'm with you but four years ahead of you. The establishment RINOs pulled the same stunts they're doing now on Ron Paul by stealing his delegates, changing the rules so he couldn't be nominated at the convention, basically writing him out of the party.

Watch: in the next few days, we could see a Paul endorsement of Donald Trump.
