If I have to go over 1,000 miles, I fly, and fly first class if posdible.

I have heard this from people who travel. One FReeper said China was the dirtiest place she’d ever been, after listing several other places (including India) that were awfully dirty.

Many years ago, when I would travel to China, it was common to see mothers holding their kids while they pooped and pee'd in the streets. Diapers were unheard of then so the bathroom was wherever you felt the need. Mom would normally try and usher the child to a curb or somewhere out of the foot traffic. When it was all clear for the child to do what it needed to do the mother would whistle. I never understood the whistle but it was something that all mothers appeared to use to signal it was ok to go.
Riding the bus in China back then meant dealing with wall to wall people. For fun, we would begin whistling on the crowded bus just to see the terror in any mother's eye who happen to be traveling with a young child. The other riders didn't appreciate our humor either. Was that wrong?

The term “Ugly American” is thrown about quite often, but I’m telling you, Chinese travelers are the most obtuse and rude travelers EVER!!

A few months ago we made a 5,000+ mile road trip. Saw a lot of our country I would not have seen flying. Of course this was for pleasure and not business, I understand some have to fly. But I have choices.

When I lived in CA I had really accurate Asian-dar. I could tell the different ethnicities and cultures by certain clues.
A chick asked me how to tell the difference between Chinese and Japanese people. I just told her if the person spits big green loogies on the sidewalk irrespective of those around them, those are the Chinese.

Say what you will about China, they do not throw their dead bodies into their holy river to be picked at by birds.

I have been getting that idea from my daughter who is living in China. We are going in July, and she says she needs to tell us about the Chinese before we come. Too late to cancel. Already bought the tickets!
