I got the idea from the Jimmy Kimmel VEEP campaign, a promise to build a wall on the Canadian border to keep the Mexicans out of Canada.
My cat hasn’t been declawed but does a good job with her fangs.
Lol. The defenders of feline claws have zero compunction as far as cutting off balls or slicing out ovaries.
Declawing and spay/neutering are personal decisions and neither the government nor you have any business in it

No, she is just adorable and leaves it at that. When you are that cute, you don't have to be political or sell yourself.
Having just received the wonderful news that she tested negative for FeLV/FIV, I removed the heavy plastic sheeting from the kitten gate confining her to my kitchen. My vet insisted on heavy quarantine because Zizu was rescued from the street. My resident Maine Coon Bijou was sitting on a chair right outside the kitten gate just now. Little Zizu was frantically waving her paws to elicit some play from Bijou. Bijou just hissed and sort of "roared" at this little interloper. I sure hope they can learn to be friends. Bijou does have curmudgeonly tendencies.
OK... I’m going to take advantage of a thread that many cat lovers will read. WE NEED HELP.
We’ll be moving to another home in early June. Five of our cats will be no problem — put ‘em in carriers and take them to the new place. The sixth was feral for years. We rescued her from raccoons and coyotes two years ago and brought her inside.
She’s sweet, “talks” up a storm, and will let you pet her with one hand only. If she sees the other hand, she’s freaking out and gone.
Any ideas of how to capture her to put her in a carrier? We can’t possibly release her outdoors now, as she most likely wouldn’t survive after being inside and coddled for so long.

We finally found something they like clawing more than the furniture. My wife puts down a couple of those rubber floow mats that kids play on (the ones that interlock). The cats like clawing them to the exclusion of everything else. We have 3 cats and none claw the furniture now.
He was there for the whole conversation and I find it amazing that he stopped using the furniture as an exercise object. He's gone but the furniture remains with just a few punctures to help us remember the best cat ever - "The Bubber" was a 16 pound pure black (face disappeared when he blinked) alpha male cat with huge paws (that stayed sheathed even when we were forcing the most godawful pills down his throat if he needed medication) that never poked either of us but which took a swatch of bloody skin off another cat with a most casual swipe as it tried to invade his porch. We have a few acres and he liked to stay outside (another good reason to not declaw him) but would run to greet us as we polled in and would lead us to the front door like a dog might.
Before him, I was a dog guy but I have to admit I miss him more than any other pet we had.
He's the only cat I ever saw that hated to use the litter box - he would use it, then brace on the edges to keep his feet out of the "stuff" as he buried it. Then he would scrape his paw off on the edge of the box.
This is one where you do not accept the premise by discussing it. A simple “BS” spoken to the perps of a law like this works better.
We’ve had some GREAT cats too.
My stories about them could fill a book.
I have an ancient sofa in my rec room that bears the scars from one of the cats scratching it. No big deal ....I happen to think it adds character to the furniture. :)
You’ll love this, then. Here in CT, they passed a law prohibiting us from burying our deceased pet on our own property.
I was unaware of this law. It was time to put our beloved cat down, and we brought a box and blanket with us to the vet, to bring him home in.
After the deed was done, my son pulled out the box and the vet explained the situation of the law. We were flabbergasted.
He was so understanding; he said something to the effect that he was going to leave the cat on the table, and he had some important phone calls to make in his office; the back door to the room was wide open, and he would say *the cat was there one minute and then it wasn’t*
We took the cat home and had fitting burial. Good vet, that man.
The only people benefiting from this, as far as I can tell, are the carcass disposal service companies [which you pay for].
You understand human nature well, and people are not always as responsible for their pets, as they should be.
