Black Panther Helps Marvel Bridge the Diversity Gap (Cast 90% Black- "Too Little Too Late?")
Inquisitr ^ | 5-16-2016 | Susan MacDonald

There’s a lot to be excited about here, and not only because of Marvel’s superbly successful handling of the relatively unknown character, as far as general audiences are concerned. Here’s what Feige had to say:

“That will be amongst the best ensembles we’ve ever had and 90% of the cast is either African or African-American.” Can the Black Panther movie, due in theaters February 16, 2018, make up for years of a lack of diversity? Is having two African-American superheroes (Falcon, War Machine) and one African superhero (Black Panther) in Captain America: Civil War a sign of progress or a case of too little, too late?

90%Black Cast is "Too Little Too Late." Marvel/Disney reminds me of the ISIS victims who wear orange jumpsuits and kneel.

More than anything, Disney doesn't want a Black Lives Matter goonsquad to protest in front of Disneyland. 90% is too little.

Let's not forget, the new Black Panther is being written by Ta-Nehisi Coates

Oh dear...

Disney/Marvel cater to the 10% of the population that don't watch science fiction and who have no money. Good job. After I watched "Captain America: Civil War," a friend of mine asked if he should go see it. The conversation went like this--

Friend: So how is it? Would you recommend it?

Me: It depends... Do you like movies about blacks?

Friend: Uh, I don't know. I guess?

Me: Then fine! You're good.

If aliens from outer space intercepted our movie and TV broadcasts, they would find the US to be populated by 80% black people, all of whom are either perfect specimens of humankind, highly educated, or possess super powers.

For my part, if I never see another Hollywood movie, it will be too soon.

Marvel has to put in what I like to call-” Shakespeare Blacks,” usually from the UK so we won’t walk out and ask for our money back. I saw Star Wars Force Awakens once too, and that was enough. I won’t watch the second one, since it will deal with repopulating the Jedi temple with little obamas

Ask Africans if they consider “African-Americans” half African.

I wonder when Lando will be coming back to fill the rogue role of Han Solo.

I’ve seen Billy Dee Williams asked what in his upbringing prepared him for his role in Star Wars. He said that nothing about his personal life experiences did, that it’s some other world... he said that he looked to Errol Flynn, the lovable rogue pirate sort.

“Fin” seemed to look to the neighborhoods of DC for his accent and speech mannerisms.

Don't Laugh! There was some talk recently about leaked script details regarding the next Star Wars movie--

In it-- ": Finn, Poe Dameron, and BB-8 are on their way to an unknown planet to retrieve Lando Calrissian.

... Finn tells Lando that Han has been killed and General Leia needs him to help the resistance. Lando agrees and his daughter comes with them.

Somebody shoot me

Prediction - This movie will fail spectacularly, especially in comparison to other Marvel releases, and they’ll call America racist.

Just some of the cast for the Star Wars spinoff, "Rogue One."

Got no problem at all with a Black Panther movie if it keeps fairly well with the comics.

Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda is what a country in Africa should be. A self-made nation that capitalized on its natural resources (namely vibranium). Invested that money into the education of its people and industry. Never blamed any of its problems on the white man. In the Marvel comics universe, Wakanda has the highest standard of living of any country in Africa. It's kind of a capitalist dreamland.

Most annoying character, practically ruined the movie.

Rogue One needs more diversity. I’m disappointed.
