Before we fiddle with the Constitution or create secret lists, the government needs to be held accountable and explain their actions. If they want more power, they have to prove the wield it better than citizens. In the second amendment, the founders figured citizens were the best first responders. The government needs to prove they are better.

If they want more power, they have to prove the wield it better than citizens then they shouldn't be wielding it in the first place.

If the government has proven anything, it’s inefficiency and waste. Prime examples are the VA, IRS, TSA, EPA, USPS, etc. And now the DOJ and FBI can add corruption to the list.

In today's America when there is any type of big event, watch the local politicians, police chief, cops, firemen, mayor, and assorted officials all line up for the cameras and do nothing but back slap each other.

In every single news conference they all read the same script and do nothing but praise each other for the cameras. Even if it was they who totally f'd up or dropped the ball. Ya see these same news conferences every day in America.

First responders are wonderful.

It seems we need better first preventers, however.

It appears “if you see something, say something,” results in yet another blown chance to prevent, lest they wander into PC and evidential problems.

Change the effing laws, then. Save lives.
