If I were ever a stripper, this would be my song.

This song would make an awesome cover version done with a heavy metal feel

When in college, I was a cocktail waitress and danced in a cage in a supper club/dance place that catered to tourists, and hired college girls because they knew we worked hard and needed the money-the tunes the customers played most were Mustang Sally and American Woman, rather than the newest stuff. I think each one of us must have danced to those tunes at least 6-8 times on weekend nights...

I hate to disappoint-but there was nothin’ dirty goin’ on-to paraphrase Dolly Parton-it was a pretty high end supper club/bar/dance place that a lot of couples came to-the waitress/dancers were dressed in a sort of bodysuit with fringe, the customers had to actually hand you a tip in your hand, but otherwise were not allowed to touch you, nor you them, and while you could-and I quote management-dance seductively-you were not to touch yourself in “that” way, etc. The place had a very good menu and wine list, too. It was fun, even though my cub has always disapproved of mami having danced in a cage...

I had friends who danced at topless places near the military bases-it paid more than being clothed-those places were also frequented by bikers looking for an old lady they could pull a train on, drug dealers, and there were sometimes stabbings and shootings-they were not gentlemen’s clubs back then...

I meant female stripper, of course.

I’m not sick.

“Obreption” does not mean “subreption”, just like “Hillary” does not mean “Holy”.

Is Hillary’s IT professional guilty of obreption because he accepted immunity for his testimony, but is now pleading the 5th? (I know it’s a different case, but still....)

Some kind of quid pro quo? That would be obreption.

Good analysis. But is it a distinction without a difference? In canon law and Scots law, subreption is the obtainment of a dispensation or gift by concealment of the truth, whereas obreption is the obtainment of a dispensation or gift by fraud. - Mirriam-Webster

Your honor is in tact. Nor was it ever in question. Please pardon my tactless comment.

Curiosity is never offensive-I know the discussion was in the sprit of fun-hence the Dolly Parton line...

Good point.

To give it a better "distinction without a difference" fit, I guess I could have worded it this way:

“Obreption” does not mean “subreption”, just like “Hillary” does not mean “Hellbound”.
(And Hillary could also be referred to as "the obstreperous one", although I guess that is really neither here nor there...)
