Fallout 4: Vault-Tec Workshop will launch on July 26 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

Bethesda announced the release date for the upcoming add-on in a post on its official site. Additionally, the studio said it will be sending out closed beta keys to select fans later this week.

The Vault-Tech Workshop DLC allows players to build their own vault that can be decked out with various furniture, which will attract new inhabitants who can be trained and used to fight off any danger that may pose a threat to your vault.

Vault-tec workshop ping

(But how can we get a workshop to Mystic Pines? That would make for a great settlement)

Heck, I haven’t even gotten Far Harbor yet. Is it worth getting?

I haven’t downloaded that yet, either.

I’ve been so disappointed with this one I don’t think all the DLCs in the world can help. I’ve been a fan of the franchise since the original, and liked New Vegas best overall. It’s lost the RPG/ gritty post-apocalypse realism heart of the original concept that made it great and it just feels like another boring game. Mount and Blade Warband (Viking Conquest DLC, or the many mods) is a great example of a truly sandbox game that runs from strategic to tactical level that is never boring, yet is a fairly realistic simulation of the genre (medieval warfare) with enough RPG elements to be immersive. Wish Bethesda would move in a similar direction instead of the bad FPS arcade style shooter.

Yes, pretty much exclusively. It is very much like “hardcore” mode in New Vegas, so I didn’t really see it as an improvement so much as a status quo. Ditto for preserving “true sights” concept from New Vegas. Overall, I found the characters and locations, lore/story lines, and especially dialog to be so flat it is just hard to get immersed. I optimistically got the “Season Pass” so maybe I’ll try again when last wave of DLCs come out.

I beat it %100. It’s a good expansion with a much swampier and creepier feeling to it. It has some good weapons and there are about 25-30 quests I’d say.

Excellent. Thank you. I may go for it this weekend. I’m knee-deep in another playthrough of Red Dead Redemption, but that will be a good change of pace.

The factions are different, humans vs. androids with the Atom folks thrown in, and the swamp creatures can mod the heck out of you if you’re not careful. Also, Longfellow is a companion and is a decent one. I was hoping that during E3 We’d get a independent spin-off like New Vegas for Fallout 3, but no deal.

The survival mode is no joke either. It makes the play of the game very cautious, with a lot of fleeing and sneaking and a necessity to know where you are and where the closest save bed is. Also, medical supplies and even dirty water that you would have tossed in regular mode becomes quite valuable.

I love red dead redemption as well, what a beautiful game, except for when you hear a cougar about to claw your horse .

I bought Farharbor, got across the ocean to it and after I helped fight the first monsters I couldn’t see me pipboy because of the invisibility armor. I can’t take it off because I can’t see my inventory.

Oh man, I almost forgot what a plague the cougars are in the Rio Bravo area. Head on a swivel at all times. I spend as little time as possible there, unless I’m hunting cougar. One bastid killed my War Horse in about half a second.

Wow - I'm sorry you don't like it. I have been absorbed in it and playing for 2 months now in my spare time. This could take a year at this rate. What I enjoy is the combat, it never gets old for me and I'm just getting the interesting perks going. Oh well, Mount and Blade took up much of my time as well, along with the different mods and becoming "King of the World". High end PC with 750GTI graphics card - F4 runs smooth as silk.

So I imagine I'm going to sink many more hours into mods.
