"Hi Chuck"
I have a problem with bicycles. Instead of a 12-step program I had 12 bikes. Some of them are gone now, I'm down to 8.
I’m all around 56cm, but you’ll find something fun.
Coupla my buds have LHTs, but I wanted discs.
That was my original plan for next year, my 60th BD, but I don’t do the rallys much anymore, this is more up my alley.
Just to annoy people like you, hon :)
That is just gay. Where are his bike panties? But, he does have discs, so I’ll give him a pass. Sorta :)
Brooks Professional, I am into riding on a 2x4 :)
Just because Froggy :)
I used to go to the gym, they had some fine looking babes over yonder, but I’m too old and fat to check out the 30-somethings anymore. I like to admire my 6-pack abs :)
I like to ride for exercise, usually 12-18 mile rides. Use to do 5-7 rides a week after work and weekends. Haven't been riding much in recent months, and I am starting to get the itch again.

I guess the news cycle is slow tonight...
Sort of looks like my end goal to make a bike like this and I found out within the last two months that's what I should do and sell the others I bought. First I got a cheap $50 craigslist Schwinn to get back into riding. It was a Dual Sport (so a flat bar road/hybrid bike) and it's decent for what it is. Also bought it to learn about upgrading components. A week before I found this I had already ordered a NOS 2014 GT Karokoram 29er with the intention of using that as the urban assault bike but it still has mountain drivetrain and now I didn't want to have to spend a bunch just to get it converted to what you have (sort of). Then a week after the Schwinn I found a REI branded bike Novara Buzz and that's almost in this vein, although I'd like to upgrade to a 53-39t crankset as right now it's 48t-3?t. It's also got the disk brakes like the Karokoram. At one point I considered a cheap $200 Fixie bike but I think if I upgrade the Novara or GT with the road size gearing I'd be good to go.
That’s.. better.. I suppose.
But no highways for you!
Nice! I have a black Surly 1x1 with disc brakes and big (well big at the time!) 2.5” tires. It’s my have fun bike. I have two other bikes, and five motorcycles. Addict.
How do you like the mechanical disk brakes?
How long do the pads last?
And, how on earth do you keep your cogs so clean?
Surly makes cool bikes. Congratulations!
Ass-hatchet haha. That’s funny.
I too prefer recumbents. Own a custom-made short and custom-made long one. short one is more maneuvarable in tight places but for long cruising I prefer the long one.
wonder why the tour de france banned recumbents?
How many bikes you should have is always properly expressed by the following equation.
N+1
Where N= The number of bikes you have.
Old joke. A cyclist is asked what he fears most about the idea of dying. His reply “That my wife will sell my bikes for what I told her I paid for them”.
Nice ride man!
No one killed. Just irate.
Careless cyclist who was ‘reading’ while riding his bike somersaults through the air after ploughing into the back of stationary car

I just got back from a morning ride on my Long Haul Trucker. I love my bike (and want at least one more, maybe two).
The brakes are Avid BB7s, they stop real well but make a little more noise than I expected. I’ve only used hydros in the past, on my mountain bike, so the mechs are a new world for me. I expect the pads to go a long ways since it’s not like mountain biking where you brake a lot, we’ll see.
I don’t get much mud, so far anyway, so the drivetrain should stay pretty clean for many miles. I hope :)
