At a Berlin church, Muslim refugees converting in droves

BERLIN (AP) — Mohammed Ali Zonoobi bends his head as the priest pours holy water over his black hair. "Will you break away from Satan and his evil deeds?" pastor Gottfried Martens asks the Iranian refugee. "Will you break away from Islam?"

"Yes," Zonoobi fervently replies. Spreading his hands in blessing, Martens then baptizes the man "in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost."

Mohammed is now Martin — no longer Muslim, but Christian.

Zonoobi, a carpenter from the Iranian city of Shiraz, arrived in Germany with his wife and two children five months ago. He is one of hundreds of mostly Iranian and Afghan asylum seekers who have converted to Christianity at the evangelical Trinity Church in a leafy Berlin neighborhood.

This of course doesn't change the fact that Angela Merkel is a fool and the worst European leader since WWII, and she's rightfully being crushed in the German elections and humiliated by her people. But a lot of clouds have silver linings I guess, and this is one of them. I saw this in my last business trip to Europe when I was shuttling between a lot of very different countries-- Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Netherlands and up in Scandinavia-- but the one thing they all had in common was the churches were filled like I'd never seen before, and the big majority in many cases were the refugees and migrants converting everywhere you looked. Syrians, Iraqis, Egyptians, Afghans and Iranians converting, by some of the census accounts tens of thousands of new converts every single week. Curiously enough, in Sweden and many of the German refugee centers almost all the Iraqis and most of the Syrian refugees were Christians or the Yazids to begin with-- it's funny in a way, but the Christian refugees in Sweden and Finland were actually the most vocal about keeping the Somalis and Eritreans out, and were apparently the main lobbying force behind those governments recent decisions to kick out their Muslims. But now even the former Muslims from places like Afghanistan and Iran are converting too, in huge numbers.

I talked to a couple of the pastors because of course the locals naturally had questions about whether some of the conversions were just a way to stay and get benefits. (The deportations have been ramping way up.) But the pastors were pretty clear that almost every one is sincere-- they're turning away from Islam because they know ISIS and the jihadis aren't just Muslim "extremists" but based in the hateful ideology that's all over in Islam itself, and they want no part of it. The converts esp in Germany, Spain, Portugal, France and Italy take pride in working and not taking benefits, and a bunch of the have even gone back in trips to their home countries to convert Muslims to Christian denominations in the Middle East itself, which with all that risk there is probably the best proof of being sincere about it.

If anything the contrast should make us even angrier about the betrayals of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, because Obama's refugee policy has been to deliberately import the hard-core Muslim jihadis into the US that stay Muslim. Obama's refugee surge has actually focused on bringing in Muslim fighters from Syria and Iraq, on the stupid excuse that they've been fighting as US allies. Plus Obama has been focused especially on importing massive numbers of Somalis, Sudanese and people from Mali, who are notorious for being hard-core Muslims and Islamists. The irony here is that despite Merkel's stupidity, the local officials in Europe have actually done a pretty good job of giving top preference to the Christians and non-Muslims as well as the Muslims who want to leave Islam and are disgusted with ISIS. Whereas Obama has staffed his "refugee" office with minions who are deliberately importing Muslim jihadists from the refugee camps in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Turkey and Iraq, because for Obama, the real enemy is traditional America. And of course he's being helped the RINO GOPe traitors as well as the corrupt cheap labor plutocrats like the Chamber of Commerce, Mark Zuckerberg, Sheldon Adelson and Bill Gates. Which is why we need a real opposition with a spine, not quislings like Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, John McCain, Jeff Flake, Kelly Ayotte, Lindsey Graham, Orrin Hatch, Roger Wicker, Ted Cruz and the other backstabbers.

I don’t believe this story unless they are doing because they are getting something extra from the system

Original Christians were Jews who converted. The next wave of European Christians were pagans who converted.

From Iran, maybe. From Syria, a probable ploy to get under the radar.

Some of them actually DO convert to Christianity. I know of at least one Lebanese Pastors. Let’s face it, we will be forced to accept whatever immigration policy our government allows. My hope is enough Muslims do turn to Christianity so that they become a benefit to their host countries, not just an economic drain or an ongoing source of physical threat.

Islam allows you to lie to protect yourself. Lying about conversion to Christianity so you continue to receive money and can secretly further Islam is thus moral.

Another interesting little tid-bit, for some reason the Syrians in those churches in Germany, France and Sweden at least are hard to tell apart from the locals, practically every one of them had blue, green or light-brown eyes and blondish or light-brown hair. That’s in fact how I first found out about this, I went into one of the churches and struck up a conversation with people who I thought were local Germans but their accent sounded very different, when they told me they were Syrians (plus a bunch of Iranians and Iraqis who also looked a lot more European than I thought). I’m just curious because I haven’t done much business in the Middle East, and the little I’ve done has been in the Gulf countries, like in Dubai where the Arabs really do look very different and non European. Whereas it seems like the Syrians, Iranians and the Lebanese esp., plus at least a bunch of the Iraqis are constantly saying they’re totally different from the Arabs in the Gulf, seems like they not only look European but consider themselves European, like some European country that got stuck in the Middle East. I admit it was an eye-opener, I don’t understand it but it was interesting to see.

Send them on missions with handlers and see what happens.

I don’t understand it but it was interesting to see.

During early conquests, "European blondes" were selectively shipped to the Middle East as slaves and concubines.

Not necessarily. Taquiya embraces ham salads. For those intending to die in the act of killing infidels ALL sins of any sort are instantly forgiven as the killer is instantly whisked into the land of shade trees where rivers run under and the houris abound.

God works in mysterious ways.

Those who will accept Christ as their Savior would never be able to do so in their native countries. But moving to the West they can now do so.

And another interesting thing too from talking to them, damn those Iranians hate Arabs, at least the ones from Saudi Arabia and Gulf. I mean with a deep passion, even more than Israelis do. So do the Kurds and Turks (who also look pretty European and a bunch of them were also converting to Christianity in those churches), they were constantly finding a reason to put down the Arabs in the Gulf, same with the Syrians like I said who keep insisting they were totally unlike the Arabs in the Gulf. There are some serious fault-lines in the Middle East, I don’t know much of the history but seems like just about all the other countries can’t stand the Arabs in the Gulf, it’s like they see them as backward uncultured idiots who just happen to have a lot of oil money but no real civilization or manners to go with it.

And also, weren’t the Turks and Barbary pirates constantly raiding northern European countries to take slaves for like centuries? Which would also explain the European look of a lot of the Middle Eastern peoples. It’s another reason why I can’t stand all the bellyaching about slavery in the US these days, white Europeans had to deal with centuries of enslavement too, a fact our media constantly tries to cover up or ignore all together. And it seems there was a lot of it.

"Will you break away from Satan and his evil deeds?" pastor Gottfried Martens asks the Iranian refugee. "Will you break away from Islam?"

Why does Pastor Martens repeat himself?
