And moderately decent with the lesson “just because you think you have a perfect society doesn’t mean it is”.
Some people just need killin'
I refer to them as “walking Deadocrats”.
Whenever AMC makes two guys kiss in one of their shows, it pretty much means they’ll be cancelling the show in a few episodes. Can anybody say “Halt and Catch Fire?”
The Walking Stupid. I watched the first few episodes and found myself screaming at the TV because the survivors were so stupid.
Ugh. I think that kiss happened about five minutes before the end of the episode and I didn’t even finish out the episode. And that was, what, episode 3? Halt and GTFO of here.
Similarly, about ten minutes before the end of an episode of Sleepy Hollow, they were bashing the 2nd Amendment. I hit stop, erase, erase series recording.
Have you seen the new Star Trek movie?
New Sulu in fiction is now old Sulu in real life.
Yep, he is in love with a man and has a daughter.
How quaint.
Nothing new for JJ Abrams, who pushed homoism in his first major project Felicity in the 90s. The only project of his that didn’t was the TV show Lost.
Oh, it did. MC Gainey played a homo. Kate didn’t want to undress in front of him, and he said, “Believe me, you’re not my type.” They later showed him in one of the flashforwards (I think) with his man.
Oh and GayJ has promised to gay up Star Wars. Nice.
As far as I’m concerned, Evangeline Lilly is every man’s type. Gainey should have gone straight on the spot.
Oops, yeah I now remember that homocharacter in Lost. Thanks for the correction.
As for Evangeline, she was amazing in that show. Feminine, sexy, and tough.
If you forgot that brief thing, it kind of proves your point that the show wasn’t pushing it as an agenda. In fact, I just read that Gainey decided to play him as gay after that one line. So, I would say you’re essential correct that that show wasn’t pushing the agenda like that Sulu crap.
Also, I don’t remember any gay stuff on JJ’s Alias.
It’s because they’re realistic. The violence has consequences, decisions have consequences, consequences have consequences. That’s how life works. Nobody is being poisoned, if anything people are EXTRACTING the poison of sanitized unrealistic story telling. It’s reflective of a people that have finally started looking to what comes next in all things. We now pay attention to what happens in a war zone AFTER the parades, and we know it ain’t pretty, and we know that if it’s handled poorly it’s just setting the table for the next war. And we want story telling that’s reflective of this new understanding, we want story telling that recognizes that just because the hero shot the bad guy doesn’t mean they live happily ever after. Happily ever after is a lie, and now we recognize it as bad storytelling.
It’s like a birthday present for me each year.
October Babies...same here !!!
May I ask for a link to your illuminati thread?
Only read after purchasing and wearing 3 garlic cloves :-)
Thanks for the ping.
