Punctuality is something many people struggle with - especially in an age where technology has made it easier than ever to let people know you might be late. However tardy timekeepers may be glad to know over in Mexico, turning up half an hour late is entirely acceptable, and in Morocco you can be anything from an hour to a day late without anyone batting an eyelid. But those keen to adhere to scheduled times needn't panic as Japan and Germany are sticklers for punctuality with the latter even requiring you to be early for meetings, a new infographic reveals.

I heard a presentation by a Lutheran missionary regarding a "home" mission in Detroit targeting Spanish speaking immigrants. He said it was interesting to see when people actually showed up for church. Sometimes in time for the sermon, sometimes for communion. But they learned to be more flexible, such as having confession late in the service, and have a growing mission.

So it's in my blood! My husband is only half German. He gets places right on time.
Generally, it is best if you bang on time, don’t you think?
Greece: failing
Germany & Japan: economic powerhouses.
Draw your own conclusions.
I’m a punctual person. One of my brothers is not. He used to be so bad that on occasion he would stand me up because “something else came up”. I (mostly) cured him of the habit by making agreements and then not showing - once I did so with back to back meets.
He wanted to be pissed but (finally) got a taste of his own selfishness. At least now days he calls to let me know he’s running late ;’}
I’ve had interactions with Russians. None of them good. A good friend just married a Russian girl (not mail order). She seems to be legit, but I’ve got my eye on her. Haha.
I’ve never heard about “rez time”, but I have heard of BPT... “black people time”. Probably about the same concept.
Your suggestion of the word “Construction” was a pretty good pickup. However “Construction” is the act of “Building”
The young Japanses kid, to tell the truth, spoke BETTER English than a good number of my shipmates.
By that I mean those from the DEEP SOuth whose English I had trouble with. Of course, I got the business when I happened to say, “paHk the caH where it’s not to faH to walk.”
LOL... exactly. For important appointments, scout ahead of time.
