The New York Police Department reeled in 165 unwanted guns from buybacks at two churches Saturday.
Authorities offered up a $200 bank card for all handguns and assault rifles in working order and a $25 bank card for rifles and shotguns, no questions asked. Altogether, 66 revolvers were turned, 52 semi-automatic handguns, 15 rifles (three of which were assault-style), 10 shotguns and 27 miscellaneous BB guns and air pistols.
“Each of these guns represents a life saved in the Bronx. We are very pleased that we got so many handguns,” said Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark. “We thank the Bronx residents who wisely turned in illegal firearms to make their homes and communities safer.”

Here in upstate, they were using the money to buy better guns. Criminals know how to play the game.
shoot...i should just make up a bunch of zip guns. If NYPD says they don’t work, ask if you can load it and point it at his vest.
I grew up under the Sullivan law in NYC. As kids we made our own guns. Electrical tape, car antennae, wood frame and grip, a small sliding door bolt and a bunch of rubber bands was all that was needed. We never killed anyone with them, only bottles and cans. I can still remember how to make them, and it might be worth producing a batch to get the NYPD buyback money.
Pretty much all I see is junk not worth owning.

That means 27 less idiots or idiots using these 27 pieces of whatever, will not get shot by a Cop or storeclerk or citizen who happens to be armed when the idiot waves the BB gun in someones face....
Probaby just represents 165 gun thefts.
