“We began The 1989 World Tour in Louisiana, and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home,” Swift said in a statement to CNN. “The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking. I encourage those who can to help out and send your love and prayers their way during this devastating time.”

Louisiana 1927 - Randy Newman

What has happened down here is the winds have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and it rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline

The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through clear down to Plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangelne

Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tyrin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away

President Coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The President say, “Little fat man isn’t it a shame what the river has done
To this poor crackers land.”

Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away

I’ve heard that this actually worse than Katrina. Not sure if that is true.

Trump should go down there and express deep sympathy and talk about the need to rebuild. He could also highlight the difference in the media coverage between Bush and Obama when black people get flooded.

Taylor Swifts likes to create and be part of drama with other celebrities but other than that I’ve heard her speak at some function and she is deep down a decent person. Hope she doesn’t go completely off the rail in Hollywood and the music world as the years go by

Nice of her to do it, hopefully she checked out the organizations that she gave the money to and more than 20 cents on the dollar will get out top the public.

Heavily flooded broad area about 40 - 60 miles north of me (around Baton Rouge and adjacent areas), also a heavily flooded broad area towards Lafayette in the west.

Water levels just as bad as Katrina, some very big subdivisions had water levels to the roofs of houses.

Areas that have never flooded before, completely underwater.

40,000 people had to be rescued, rescues were still going on yesterday, 10 dead so far.

Backwater flooding still going on as the water moves south to the gulf.

No big time coverage except locally.
