The average crazy check isn’t that much; maybe $300-$500 per month. It’s from Social Security disability, and SSD is based on how much you put in during your working life. You can go to the Social Security Administration website, and if you have an account you can look up what your expected monthly disability payout would be if you were declared disabled.

Since most of the urban recipients never paid in a dime, their payouts are fairly low. However, you have to look at the loosely associated “welfare unit” as it exists in the inner city. The “welfare unit” membership varies over time, but you can look at it as the same family unit as a herd of elephants. It is a matriarchy run by the grandmother, and the female membership will be fairly constant of the grandmother and one or more of her daughters, and the associated grandchildren. When the male grandchildren reach a certain age, they will begin moving around to different “herds.” They bring their crazy money with them as additional income to the “welfare unit.”

I know I will be missing some benefits, but look at a typical situation:

1. Grandmother, who receives social security and medicare or medicaid.

1a. Current male companion of grandmother, who either also receives social security or disability.

2. Daughter #1; who has four children, and for each child she receives TANF, Medicaid and Food Stamps. She may also receive her own disability. The children also get free/reduced breakfast and lunches, year round. She also has subsidized housing.

2a; Current male companion of Daughter #1, who receives disability check;

3. Daughter #2; who has three children, all receiving the same, including her own allotment for subsidized housing;

3a. Current male companion of Daughter #2. He may not receive a disability check, but he gets money from drug dealing or from the occasional cash odd job. Or he participates in a theft ring and brings in additional cash that way.

4. Two older male grandchildren of another son or daughter who receive crazy money.

Add up all the different people and the various sources of income, all either government, illegal, or unreported, and you get a fairly sizeable monthly income. It’s not a nuclear family. It’s not even tribal. It’s more like an animal herding relationship.

And you pay for it.

“Crazy Checks are also cut by the Social Security Administration, speeding that program’s demise.”

Exactly, and that is why I don't listen to the millenials telling me that I should just be a victim to the ponzi scheme, and forfeit my benefits. I paid into it, and I want my money back.

Right.
Because only a chump would keep working at a low-wage job that requires no skill or education. That would be degrading.

Yep ..... he needs a wee bit of wall to wall counseling from the sound of it.

A guy at work told me his “wife” was drawing 100% with PTSD disability because a Senior Chief in her unit asked her out on a date at a party (before she was married to my coworker) . No harassment, no rape, threats etc.... Just asked her out once.

Full 100% disability for a administrative clerk who’s lone combat experience was with a stuck drawer on her desk.....

Scam # 2....

This explains a lot. When I made arrangements for my Social Security retirement, I saw a LOT of young, healthy looking men in line. I heard they were on disability, but no details on what for.

I think it is 82. No wait! That is the percentage of black illegitimate births in Milwaukee. 82%

But I don’t care about him allegedly fearing for his life.

You are missing my point.

Articles posted on FR has to have the original title posted. FR was sued back in the 90s partly over this, and this is the result of it.

This is simply the Forum rules. If you wanted to make a point about the crazy check, you could have done so in your initial post.

I care about the tiny part where it was revealed that he was getting a crazy check. Period.

Then make your point in your comments section, after you post the article.

If that offends you, I don’t know what else to say.

Why don't you learn the rules? I'm not offended by per se, but it's important to follow the Forum rules.

I don't *WANT* people to focus on details that I regard as secondary in importance

Which are in violation of the Forum rules.

If the poster wanted to comment about the crazy check, she could have easily done so in her post.

Do not change original titles, and I don’t suggest you argue with me about it.

Which are in violation of the Forum rules.

But which might not have been a problem had someone not gone running to the teacher.

If the poster wanted to comment about the crazy check, she could have easily done so in her post.

That DOES NOT WORK. People scan the headlines to find stories of interest. Stories with interesting headlines will get me to click on the thread. I am interested in hearing about the crazy check. A Headline about how the thug "feared for his life" would have caused me to skip the story.

Yes, Criminal Thugs fear for their lives because their thug lifestyle is going to get them killed. Dog Bites man. Big snoozer. Elvis Presley even wrote a song about it.

Making the story about his "Crazy Check" allows us to identify an interesting point and discuss the problems caused by government money funding most of our criminal class; A Topic I find far more significant and interesting.

But I see you have been successful in destroying the headline that was actually relevant and interesting, and getting the mundane and pointless one put back up.

Gee... Thanks.

Original titles are to prevent confusion leading to duplicate threads and the legal issues also mentioned. However, the OP could have added something like (Getting Crazy Check) in the title in the manner we add (Barf Alert) to threads.

That is actually a pretty good idea, and one which I will remember the next time I want to make a point to focus on a particular aspect of a story.

I think Penelope Dreadful as well as plenty of other people would like to know that this is the preferred method for handling that sort of conundrum.

And I understand why Free Republic is sensitive to the legal issues. Jim Robinson had to go to court to defend his website at one time, if I remember correctly.

And he won.

My godson gets $130.00 in food stamps and $240.00 in disability. His medical care, such as it is, is “free”. He is 28 and has been mentally ill since he was a child, OCD and bipolar. He is also delusional, seeing trolls looking in his bedroom window at night and watching him from behind shrubbery and through walls when he goes out. He lives with his widowed mother.

You also have dope dealers who get shot claiming PTSD and getting disability to get “dat check.”

Don’t let anyone ever tell you that reparations are not being paid.
