SIERRA VISTA Looking for the latest info on where the best fishing spots are in southern Arizona and across the state? The Arizona Game and Fish Department has regular updates from anglers all over Arizona detailing what fish are hitting what baits and where as part of its weekly Fishing Report.
Compiled from regular input from fishermen and women as well as Game and Fish officials, the report covers the fishing conditions at dozens of lakes and waterways, as well as stocking schedules, water levels and updates on which fish species are most active and when.
The idea is just get the latest fishing information out to the public in a timely manner to try and promote interest in fishing. We get that info from anglers a lot of the time. Theyll send us emails or call us. There are several fishing forums I look at to glean info from, said Don Mitchell, aquatics program supervisor for Arizona Game and Fish, who compiles information on fishing activities in southern Arizona before it is added to the report by staff in Phoenix.
I post from the state of Mo. dept. of conservation’s e-mail blast, I get every week, through fb,MeWe, & just about every where I can.
Arizona? Doncha need water to fish?
Yes and fish tii.
We have some of both and Beavers too.
Yes and fish too.
I have been to Arizona. Grew up in New Mexico. I also fished the Gulf of Panama, a lot. Somehow when I think “fishing” the first two don’t just leap into my mind. LOL. If I was to go for lizards, Arizona and New Mexico would be right up there! And Rattlers.
But man I can show you pictures and tell stories about fishing Panama.
We even hace a river that flows North.
I guess anything north of Flagstaff would flow north. Where in AZ are you, if you don’t mind?
In Cohhise County near Bisbee and Tombstone. 8}
Now that is desert. I grew up in Carlsbad. Also desert. You have to love the desert to stay there.
And I d! Along with the Huachuca Mountains.
I loved the desert but I don’t miss it.
I have a cabin at Parker Canyon Lake, water is near 90 feet deep at the dam. Catfish, bluegill, bass, trout. We see bear, mountain lion, turkey, deer, javelin on a regular basis. And rattlers; tasty on the grill.
Nothing like the desert in April. Amazing.
I lived in Valley Forge for a few years in the 80s. Learned a lot about something I had little experience with previously. Trees. LOL.
Oh yes. All those cook up Yunny.
