Once a thread is deleted, it bits are sent to the bit bucket where they are kept for later recycling into memes.

I had a thread deleted the other day. The reason it was deleted was because it was authored by a guy named “Huston”, I believe.
He is on the list of those who cannot be posted here. I suppose he has asked not to be, or he has done something that makes it untenable for him to be posted. I didn’t complain, because I think I remember doing the same thing about 5 or 6 years ago with the same guy.
There are a lot of legal things behind the scenes that determine why some are and some are not deleted.
Obviously, the site itself says that it doesn’t want racist, violent, or abusive threads. Those will be deleted.
I’ve been here since 1998. That’s why I know. I’ve never been anything other than a regular freeper.

Deleted threads are ground up into little bits the way tires are shredded to add to NFL football fields. The shredded threads are added to the comments section in our yearly Yahoo football pick’em contests. You should join and play.
Yeah, I don’t like it when my threads get pulled sometimes, but it’s a private site.

I too had some posts and comments deleted. Sadly Freerepublic is becoming more PC and less Free.

The deleted threads are sent and stored in a special division of FR. You will receive by mail an appointment date for a hearing for a personal appearance where you can appeal the deletion. Please arrive promptly and where proper attire. Jeans and sandals are not permitted.
