I’d heard he was a well known jerk. Too bad there’s no 28 day program for that. Instead he can go suck a lemon.
Still trying to get your life together at 72. LOSER!!

Pretty much everything I've ever read about SNL revolves around how how hated Chevy Chase was. He really made quite an impression with the SNL cast! There was even a fistfight when he came back to host.
I've followed SNL since the beginning and I never understood why his career was the first to take off. I thought Belushi, Radner and Ackroyd were much better right from the get-go. Chevy was only there for maybe a season and a half.

The best thing about CaddyShack [other than Dangerfields last great cinematic effort] is that it propagated both Tin Cup and Happy Gilmore. Be The Ball!"Why don't you just go home?! That's your HOME! Are you too good for your home?"

"Im so old I remember when he was amusing." I was trying to remember the year, month and week. In a giving mood, I guess.

He was once such a funny guy, but ruined himself with “substances.”

Probably because at the time, he had the movie star good looks and got leading man roles. He was very funny as Clark Griswold.
