China claims to have developed radar that can detect STEALTH jets
UK Daily Mail ^ | September 8, 2016 | Jennifer Newton

A Chinese firm has claimed that they have developed radar technology that can detect stealth jets. The quantum radar was reportedly created by Intelligent Perception Technology, a branch of defence and electronics firm CETC. They claim it is capable of detecting a target at a range of 60 miles and according to the Xinhua news agency, it was successfully tested last month.

China claims it developed a radar that uses quantum entanglement; two particles, in this case photons, are generated and know what the other is doing instantaneously. The BS meter is going off on this one.

If they did, they wouldn’t advertise it.

Almost as much as the moon habitat with the big radar antenna.

I helped MAKE Radars that can detect stealth jets! How do you think we knew they were stealth jets?

Not impossible. Doubtful? Yes, it is a communist country.

It is estimated (somewhat tongue-in-cheek) that between China and India, they have more geniuses overseas than in the entire US.

Three minutes after China declares war on the US, how many Apples and Iphones will cease working?

Meh, why bother. Just look for the “hole in the sky.” That technology has been around a lot longer, and is easier to enhance.

Stealth jets have never been 100% stealth. And now, 25 years later, they are certainly not stealth. But they do make the radar person or missile question it. Its not a sure thing for a few seconds. And they are so fast that a split second is all that’s needed.

And remember there are lots of jamming systems that do a similar thing.

I’m surprised they haven’t thanked Obama yet for giving it to them.

Detecting stealth is easy, it’s the targeting that’s tough.

Just more proof that America’s stealth technology scares them more than anything else.

The Australians beat stealth years ago by simply looking for the turbulence created by the stealth aircraft’s jetwash.

At least for India, this is statistically impossible given the differences in national IQ.

In 1987, I was delivering a mobile tracking radar to the Air Force.
As part of the delivery, we were supposed to demonstrate the system.
Some cocky Air Force officer thought he’d pull a fast one on us by having a stealth fighter fly the test course instead of the regular plane.
He was amazed that our mobile system tracked the stealth plane through every maneuver.
I didn’t tell him until later that we were using the backup optical tracker, because the radar wasn’t seeing anything.

I think you are correct about that. Stealth aircraft are designed to minimize signal reflection in the direction of a received radar signal. They accomplish this by deflecting and/or absorbing these radar signals. But accomplishing that performance over all possible radar operating frequencies is, if not impossible, extremely difficult. I vote for the impossible option.

As a result it is inevitable that radar systems will be developed to detect stealth aircraft. I'm sure they already exist and more are certainly on the drawing board and coming soon.

They either have or soon will. Stealth isn’t invisible. It is simply too small of a return for modern computers to “see”. We are buying airframes we’ll keep for 30 years, and increased speed in processing power will make them fully visible in 5.

I think people forget one way to defeat stealth is bi-static radar, where the transmitter and receiver for the radar are in different locations. While it does work, it also require a LOT of computing power to make it work.

In reality, ALL RADAR can detect stealth planes. The problem is, the plane shows up with the cross-section of a hummingbird and thus is ignored or cannot be reliably tracked in position.

But it does see it - physics still works, reflections still exist.
