Ryan Lawrence has pleaded guilty to murdering his 21-month-old daughter in February.

The Syracuse man – who beat Maddox Lawrence to death at Labrador Hollow and then dumped her body in Onondaga Creek – pleaded guilty to first and second-degree murder on Thursday.

He will be sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

The sentences will be served concurrently.

He also waived his right to an appeal.

Lawrence will be eligible for parole in 25 years.

Lawrence is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 7.

Morgan Lawrence - the child's mother - was in court when Ryan Lawrence pleaded guilty.

The baby's body was found lying in the water near the Inner Harbor.

An Amber Alert was issued the morning after Ryan and Maddox Lawrence disappeared from their Valley neighborhood home on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Morgan Lawrence contacted police after she found their family car in the Destiny USA parking lot and drove home - where she discovered a message from Ryan.

The contents of the message alarmed police when they responded to the home.

Ryan Lawrence was picked up by police in the village of Baldwinsville the following Monday.

NewsChannel 9 and LocalSYR.com will have additional details as they become available.

Other sources report that he was jealous of the attention the baby revived during her battle with cancer.

If I were the mother, I would be the one in jail after I got my hands on that subhuman monster.

When he arrives in prison, they should put him with the general population & inform the other prisoners what he did. He shouldn’t last long.

I do not understand those type of feelings. My sister had them, exhibited them, when our parents showered my nephew, her son, with loving attention.

25 years? He needs to hang by the neck for 25 years.

Do prison guards alert inmates of the child killers in the population?

I’ve heard that the sentences for pretty much everyone in gen pop are known. Had a buddy years ago that was busted for growing large amounts of marijuana and when he went to jail the inmates basically demanded to see his booking papers (or sentencing papers, or whatever it was).

They’ll find out.

Of course they shouldn’t do that.

We as a culture need to have the balls enough to execute our murderers and rapists.

Not have it done second hand but prison horrorshows.

From another article: "And because Lawrence was convicted of a violent felony, he will not have any time shaved off his sentence in prison. That means he won't go before a parole board until 25 years from now."
