Clinton campaign: Yes, world has 'right' to immigrate to U.S.
Washington Examiner ^ | 9/22/2016 | Byron York

Do people around the world have a right to move to the United States? It's a bedrock belief of most conservatives that there is no such right. The U.S. sets its own immigration policy, admits whom it chooses, and foreign nationals in foreign countries have no right — a claim that could be pursued in court — to enter the United States.

Now, Hillary Clinton says there is such a right, at least if a tweet from her campaign headquarters can be taken for a policy pronouncement.

This is what happened. In his Monday speech on terrorism and immigration, Donald Trump said, "We want people to come into our country, but they have to come in legally, through a process… No one has a right to immigrate to this country. It is the job of a responsible government to admit only those who expect to succeed and flourish here and really be proud of what they've done and where they came from. They have to love our country."

In that quote was the fundamental principle: There is no right to immigrate to the United States.

I understand your point, but in 10 years time it would be game over. The filty Democrats would gladly wait for that time bomb.

Note:

who shall have resided within the limits and under the jurisdiction of the United States for the term of two years

Note that they make a distinction between being with the limits AND under the jurisdiction of the United States.

IOW you are considered to be subject to the jurisdiction of the United States - you are not a diplomat, you are not an enemy hiding in a hut in the forest, you are not a secret emissary of the King of Spain planted here by a corvette to spy on Gen. Washington's navy.

You were admitted into your state and community by agreement.

The modern way of saying this is you have applied for and received permanent residency status.

No, there is no such right, nor is there any governing body short of God who has the ability to confer or enforce it. Absolutely not. Immigration is a privilege that may be granted or withheld, here and everywhere else in the world. For an overview of how other countries treat the subject, see This UN Document. It's actually pretty accessible considering its source.

It is a little amusing to see some of the most totalitarian people in the country pretend that they're defending human freedom by opening borders uncritically. They aren't. It's just another lever of power to them, another tool of control.

Yeah, we’re way too eager to even have “friends with benefits” relationships with them and to make it worse, it’s a one-way street.

So if I show up on someone’s doorstep and say, “Wow, what a nice house!” and then come in, raid the fridge, make a sandwich, and head upstairs to select a bedroom (and maybe check out the teenage daughter’s room while I’m up there) it’s going to be perfectly fine with your average Hillary voter. Got it.

Yes, they are perfectly fine with that so long as it is not their house, but someone else's property being usurped.

And they were supposed to be *white*.

This nation was intended to be for European whites. Just like Zimbabwe for the blacks, and Israel for the jews, and China for the Chinese and Japan for the Japanese, etc, etc.

Clinton campaign: Yes, world has ‘right’ to immigrate to U.S.

Just read my copy of the Declaration and the Constitution. Nowhwere did I see the right to immigrate nor even the implication that there was such a right.

Why are Western countries welcoming in immigrants by the boatload? To ensure the ever expanding social safety net to populations growing old, who are not reproducing enough to support the longer living old timers; the population is in decline.

Lefties believe they need to import these younger, fast breeding immigrants, to provide the additional needed revenue to support our way of life. Cut back on benefits, lose votes, is what they believe. They think they can ‘tame’ muhamedans the way they ‘tamed’ the mainline church. They don’t understand, nor wish to understand the savagery of muhamedans or their faith. You can’t take savages the way you stick it to civilized people.

Several years ago, Stephen Harper bumped the age at which you can claim Canada Pension to 67 years of age, up from 65. He (and we, Canada) lost the election. Turd-owe instead, welcomes in tens of thousands of Syrians, mostly mohamedans, with the idea that they’ll make up the government budgetary shortfall. Old man Turd-owe, though an arrogant socialist, at least had some intelligence on his side. Not so with Dustbin Turd-owe.

The anti-American left have been making up ‘rights’ since 1973, what’s one more fantasy?

No. That would have been considered a threat to nationhood.

You don't shack up with your enemies, and hand over your land to them.

But of course not dealing with the Africans and leaving it as a "delicate issue" lead to the biggest problem of all...a shooting war that then lead to the 14th amendment...which obliterated the concept that only Europeans (genetically) were to be considered part of the Nation.

For 100 years after the war the original settlers controlled the influx and made sure it was only their European relatives.

The Chinese Exclusion Act, the 1924 Act...if invading the U.S. is a right, how did those pass?

No one thought that was a constraint. A free people making laws for themselves without a King had every right to do so.

No nobody has a right to immigrate to the US. We have a right to decide who, when and how. Or not at all.
