STD RATES AT RECORD HIGH (an explanation)
http://www.catholicleague.org ^ | 10/202016 | Bill Donohue

Never before have more young people been subjected to “progressive” sex education than today; never before have more Americans been given free condoms than today; never before have more colleges and universities incorporated “safe sex” classes into their freshmen orientation programs than today; never before have there been more public service advertisements imploring gays to take preventive measures than today; never before have more celebrities been hired to promote “sexual awareness” than today; and never before has the rate of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) been higher.

Never before have the rates of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis been worse. Chlamydia mostly affects females, and it is young women, disproportionately black, who score the worst. Homosexual men, who are roughly one percent of the population, account for the majority of cases of gonorrhea and syphilis.

So who is suffering the least from STDs? We know from a study published in the Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology that girls who are religious are far less likely to be burdened with STDs than those who are not. Religious beliefs and practices, the researchers found, functioned as “an independent predictor of multiple sexual behaviors directly linked to important clinical outcomes such as pregnancy and STD risk.”

Religious beliefs and practices have proven to be a better deterrent to STDs than education and technology. Yet we are doing nothing to husband the resources of faith communities to combat STDs. Instead, we distribute condoms and lecture on the wonders of “safe sex.” And then we scratch our heads every year when the STD rates get worse. We never learn

Religion is not the enemy—it’s the answer. But religion scares the free spirits: they don’t want to be told to practice restraint, so they throw it to the wind, living a libertine lifestyle. Then they get sick.

We don’t need to spend a dime more on research. In fact, funding research on STD prevention only increases the likelihood that we will keep our heads in the sand. Money won’t cure a problem rooted in reckless behavior—only virtue will.

"In the 1950s, abortion was illegal, sex education hardly existed, and the pill was not on the market. The rates of abortion, illegitimacy, and STDs were so small that these subjects were rarely discussed. So why is it that today, with all the advances in education and technology, we are going backwards?"

Throw another few $Billions into government-sponsored “sex education.”

yeah, that’s the trick.

According to the idiot liberals I have talked to, they seem to think that abstinence causes STD rates to rise....

That is like saying not eating anything for a week will make you gain 100lbs...

The left actively encourages the young to throw off the shackles of the value system they acquired from their parents. It is done with no regard to the consequences and to eliminate the influence of christianity on life in the USA.

“So why is it that today, with all the advances in education and technology, we are going backwards?””

The answer to that was alluded to in the article - there is far less worshiping God these days than in decades of old. As the Good Book says: ‘The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom’.

Without the modifying influence of the Holy Ghost, people lack true wisdom, self control, and respect for themselves and others.

It all begins with faith and trust in the Lord Jesus.

I’ve heard some liberals say that abstinence doesn’t work because you keep people in the dark about how their bodies work. They won’t know how to protect themselves say the liberals.

We all have temptations in the sexual areas of life. But it seems clear and common sense, that abstaining before marriage will guarantee no VD, no unplanned pregnancy.

How our bodies work is one thing.

This Millenial hookup culture, where they all meet up and go home with a different partner each night, surf apps like Tinder for more partners, etc.....is something else again.

It is so contrary to human nature I can scarcely wrap my mind around it.

IMHO, Survival of the fittest is still being contested here on the third planet, and STDs/venereal diseases are just one more way of removing the stupid from the population. With damaged or destroyed reproduction organs, they won't be able to pass their perversions on to the next generation, and good riddance; they won't be missed.

Forget picking up Bill Clintons cigar castoffs as well. Even if they look un-smoked.

STDs are supposed to be reported by law to the County Health Units and on up the public health food chain to the CDC and other “official data keepers” at the UN. The incidence rates are probably much worse, but for obvious reasons not fully reported.

Homosexuals have always led the way in STDs with people of negro descent a distant second. Homosexual men have descended so far into their mental illness that they are intentionally infecting each other or allowing themselves to be infected. The bisexual men carry the STDs back to their women. Let’s not forget about the teenagers and young adults pouring in from Latin America, Africa, and other 3rd world places during the past 3-4 years - perhaps they have also contributed to the spike? Don’t wait for our Govt. or Catholic Charities/Lutheran Samaritas to tell you.

Devil is in the Details - just relieved to know that it wasn’t really the randy retirees in Florida causing the spike after all.

It is especially important to push the ideas where morality and common sense fortify each other, such as this area of life. People don’t like the “religious” aspect, pound them with the common sense part more until it sinks in.

Most definitely.

The people that say this make an erroneous assumption that practicing abstinence means the kids don’t know how their bodies work.

Reject the flawed assumption in the loaded premise.

There you have it: no mystery, the "mainstreaming" of homosexuals has opened the gates. Homos in the past at least were circumspect about their depraved humpings, now they are out in the open and "celebrated" so the frequency is bound to go up. Along with infections as they play their disgusting sex games.

The condoms keep breaking! Reminds me of a line from a bawdy old song about a family of ill repute...

My uncle makes cheap contraceptives, he punctures each one with a pin,
'Cause auntie sells fake penicillin; Oh my, how the money rolls in!

Rolls in, rolls in, oh my how the money rolls in, rolls in,
Rolls in, rolls in, oh my how the money rolls in!

They are not free spirits.

Truly free spirits are independent of the herd mentality.

They are enslaved spirits: enslaved to their appetites, enslaved by communist propaganda.

The Leftist paradigm always works in a fallen world:

Create a problem, blame it on your enemy, then demand even more power to fix the problem that you created with the power you already had.

Rinse and repeat ad nauseum.
