Hillary Clinton was one of the many women to respond to the Senate’s approval Tuesday of a bill requiring women to register for the draft when they turn 18. Clinton told The Huffington Post that she supports the measure, though she continues to favor an all-volunteer military, which the U.S. has had since 1973. ***** Sen. Claire McCaskill, a Democrat from Missouri, said after the vote that “it’s just a matter of time” until women are treated equally in the military. The reaction from women outside of politics, including commenters on Women in the World’s Facebook page, was decidedly more diverse. *** “I think this would be a big step toward real female empowerment and also a general change in attitude toward the quickness in going to war. I see this as potentially a very good thing,” Naugle wrote.

It might not matter. A lot of Democratic support is rooted in fantasy and unreality. I bet that many women who think they have been denied entrance to the military due to sexism have no idea what the military can involve. And, if they don’t then the idea of “equal treatment” doesn’t bother them.
It’s like the situation you see sometimes with the police or firemen, where a woman physically unable to do the job is AA’d into it, and bad things happen. For example, that recent shooting by a thoroughly backed up woman police officer when the big black guy had his hands in the air, but wandered slowly to his vehicle.
Hey, womyn have been saying for over a generation they are equal to men in allthings.

Fellow called into our local radio station this morning and said women better wake up. He said the military has been so demoralized and gutted that with a Hillary presidency the need for a draft may become necessary and all of you women better prepare to have your daughters and granddaughters drafted.

I saw several of twitter ads under #DraftOurDaughters and #DieForHER. They are so powerful and fear-inducing. I can see how they would cause havoc among Dem women voters in particular.
