them being a victim of a crime usually does it instantly.
You don’t. I simply don’t associate with them. There is no rationalizing with them. They go full emotional on you and it’s the end of the conversation. I’ve seen it too many times.
Give them a J O B and weekly pay statement:-)
“them being a victim of a crime usually does it instantly.”
I was going to say, only real life experience can convert a liberal. I like yours better.
You assume most liberals of today would listen to a reasoned argument.
I had respect for old line liberals because you could at least agree to disagree.
Todays liberals would rather see you executed for your opinions contrary to theirs.
One only has to look at the bastions of free thought, Americas college campii to see the rot on the left.
To what? Mulch?
Yep. And when they start paying income and property taxes, paying for all of their own food and bills... then they start to see that there are millions of others who would prefer to freeload.
Generally growing up fixes the issue.
But so many people no longer grow up...
I have given up on them. They usually throw hissy fits and can’t understand others have a different view to them.,
I once had a friend, well sort of anyway who went into a tirade against conservatives. I waited till they were finished and then told them that I was a conservative do you have a problem with me. Nothing from them, not a word, they just shut up and have stayed silent since.
If I hear anyone saying how it is racist to close the border down I just ask them when did it become racist to secure a border of a country, and if the border is open could it mean terrorists could come here. that usually shuts them up as they have no answer.
I think it is akin to a spiritual journey, and in fact may be one.
As such, it is largely out of our hands, with decent example and rational discourse at opportune moments being about all we can contribute. That and the knowledge that we will wreck them if they attempt coercion. Nothing personal.
I am convinced the old ways are far better than new and improved anything. Once upon a time in these United States The Holy Bible was a common text book used throught out the school years.
The first thing was when a Black Panther tried to take my camera at the revolutionary people’s constitutional convention, and another one suggested that “the people” would have need of my new VW bus, when none of “the people” were working twelve hours a day to make to payments.
Then, I saw a Newsweek cover story about a family in which five generations were on welfare, and no indication that any future generations would get off of it.
Then, I read Robert Ringer’s “Restoring the American Dream” and I saw why government programs don’t work, and it lead me to Milton Friedman, William Simon, and Ayn Rand, all of whom were cited by Ringer.
The more I read and observed, the more conservative I got.
You can stop the process in children who are being indoctrinated quite easily.
My daughter was watching me watch the news a few weeks ago... she saw Hillary on TV... and said girl power! first woman president! ect.. then she asked who I was voting for... I said I would never vote for Hillary or any other Democrat.
She asked, why not?
Simple Democrats want abortion to be legal.
She asked, what is abortion?
I said, abortion is when you kill the baby in a mommies tummy.
She said... WHAT!!!?!? WHY would they do that!!!
I said, because they don’t want it.
She said, THAT’S TERRIBLE!!!! I’m supporting Trump!
case closed.
The DNC does a good job of driving believing Christians out of the party.
As people become more religious, their politics change over time. Not immediately, but over time.
And people who go into business, if the business is not a government contractor, they will change politically over time.
by the way “language”
I see it as being similar to Ted Bundy's mother.A month or two before he was executed he started confessing to various murders. As he was doing so he was basically saying that his execution date had to be postponed so that he could get all the details out.A ploy to be sure.
However,at the very same time that her son was making all those confessions his mother gave an interview to some member of the press in which she stressed that Ted was a good boy and couldn't *possibly* have done *any* of the things he was accused of.
Same basic mentality,IMO.
Some, maybe most, liberals don’t learn, even when mugged by reality, such as getting a huge increase in their health insurance premiums.
They have a distorted, delusional perception of reality.
