Not everybody has pills (or worse) at hand when they get the overpowering sense that they can’t go on living another minute. At that moment, *how* it ends doesn’t really matter to them...*that* it ends is paramount.
As to why...could be as simple as, much like Marilyn Monroe, she was getting older, saw her opportunities ending, and couldn’t take it.
Not wanting to contradict you, but Marilyn was only 36, not at all old to me.
True...at the same time, “Hollywood years” (especially back then) can be brutally different, especially if you’d not had much movement from a given “range” of roles, and there’s plenty of younger and fresher versions coming right behind you.
Suicide is overwhelmingly likely, but I would still demand an autopsy on the small chance she was strangled and then hung up by her skirt.
It is a long shot, but I would demand a review if her bruises were consistent with the skirt or she appeared to have other injuries that possibly happened before.
That said, she probably just comnitted suicide. Did they mention a note?

If you look at the statistics....women do not hang themselves, or shoot themselves. It’s not absolute, but a suicide by hanging by a woman is damned peculiar.

I’ve seen most of the Kimmy episodes since the beginning, and I don’t recognize her. Apparently only in 1 episode, but can’t tell which one and who she portrayed.

I'm not familiar with that show. Is there some kind of curse on people who have been on it?
I had the woman who died confused with someone else. My age is showing as I am not familiar with many in movies or TV these days.
She’s definitely someone who was just an interchangeable bit player. Never a lead character or a regular on a TV series that I know of.
Even character actors that become familiar work more than the few times a year she worked.
