Harvard's Mankiw: Trump Should Stop Micromanaging Corporate America
Fox Business ^ | 12/7/16

In an interview on the FOX Business Network’s Countdown to the Closing Bell, Harvard Economics Professor Greg Mankiw said the President-elect shouldn’t be meddling in the affairs of corporate America, and his decision to do so may not be beneficial for the economy in the long run.

“There’s a big difference between being a CEO of a company and being President of the United States. A CEO is basically a central planner for that company. The President of the United States is not the central planner for the U.S. economy,” Mankiw said.

"The President of the United States is not the central planner for the U.S. economy,”

Unless, you know, he's a Marxist -- I mean: Democrat. Then it's totally cool.

This is like someone watching a foundation being poured for a house and commenting, “They should not be focusing so much attention on the foundation. There are a lot of aspects to building a house, and they should not be overlooked.”

i.e. they are an idiot.

Probably something that NEEDS to be said. President Elect Trump can;t be making deals to save 1,000 jobs like Carrier every day of the week. He needs to CREATE a safe and healthy climate for businesses, and let them come back, and not arm twist and broker sweet deals. THAT is what I think is termed crony capitalism. I think he will do just fine, but the point is well made.

I’m not aware of any micromanagement going on; if so, that’s new to me.

Donald has taken attention to individual companies in crisis conditions but hasn’t delved deeper than that.

Hey dork, do da names GM, Chrysler, and Dorkbama mean anything to ya?

In a real world, all three would be gone long ago.

The tone of Trump’s approach tells me that he fully intends to make generic what he has made specific in a few cases. A lot of respectable politicians including Sarah Palin have also worried out loud about crony capitalism. I don’t think this is where Trump is headed in this case.

Harvard's Mankiw: Trump Should Stop Micromanaging Corporate America

This flamin' lib "professor" has been hanging out with 0bama and his comrades so long that he's forgotten what leadership and real management look like.

The Left is dense and dumb. Trump is perfecting a very effective tactic. He knows that the MSM herd will gravitate to the “stories” when he deals with big companies such as United Technologies (Carrier), Boeing and others. Meanwhile as their precious globalist policies are undone at EPA, the Department of Energy, Homeland Security,State, Defense etc, it will be done effectively and hardly noticed.

Well, he’s not even president. Trump cannot be shepherding tax reform for business through Congress — not this week, anyway: He’s busy not being President.

I think Trump is saying that jobs stay in America if the government backs off on taxes and eases regulations. Carrier is a case in point. Now, the point being made, in a few months, Trump will actually be president and can make a big move to create a safe and healthy climate for businesses.

The whole existence of libs is based on meddling. There is a difference between their meddling and strategic thought.

Imposing a tariff on imports does not “meddle” in any the internal affairs of a corporation.
