Sarah Palin: My statement on the changes at Fox News…

On changes at FOX.

Important note: it’s been a tumultuous year at FOX. It’s no secret I don’t agree with aspects of their seemingly new agenda wherein independent conservative commentators were axed to make room for more partisan talking heads, as if the airwaves aren’t bloated enough already with lapdogs bloviating daily tired leftist talking points. However, smart people run FOX – I have great respect for many of the individuals I was privileged to work for – and their apparently experimental political shift will probably pay off handsomely, whilst opening doors for new, refreshing, competing news outlets. So it’s all good. (Also good have been the jokes about me being replaced by Meghan McCain, for I find self-deprecating humor really is the best kind!)

An elephant in the room during recent FOX discussions is the claim of an environment of sexual harassment, even abuse, in which some high-profile FOX team members were allegedly forced to work. My comments below do not pertain specifically and exclusively to the FOX sex scandals and various accusations, for none of us are privy to what actually went on behind closed doors – except the doors we personally were behind:

Many of us never understood how gals’ years-old claims of “sexual harassment” meshes with their willingness to stick around (and thrive) in the sexually-harassing corporate environment they abhorred. You’re better than that, ladies. If you’re unjustly harassed and intimated into putting up with a man’s crap, get out while the getting’s good – no sweet corporate paycheck is worth sticking around for years on end, selling your peace of mind, contradicting the advice you’d give your daughters if they faced the same “horrible” conditions. And if you have a husband telling you to put up with it and just “go along to get along” in a corporate culture perpetuating the insufferable sexual harassment – his priority being money over your well-being and integrity – that means he’s full of crap, too.

Simply put: if harassment is found in such a high profile workplace or anywhere else, the only way to make it stop is take a stand against it right away. Don’t reward the perp by continuing to work for him, then years later whistleblow. You create more problems for more women when you refuse to put a stop to the harassment in a timely manner. It makes it appear sexual harassment couldn’t be such a bad thing if you put up with it for years, and despite many opportunities to empower other women that you could have protected, you instead continued to make money for him, perhaps even complimenting and paling around with the bad guy.

Not saying the latest FOX moves are based on accusations the public has read. I’m just making a general statement that women are capable enough to be successful without putting up with sexual harassment.

Fox News??? You mean they are still on the air??? I quit watching that bunch of liberal talking hacks years ago. CNN, PMSNBC, FOX, ABC, NBC, CBS other wise known as Constant Bull S**T, all are liberal hacks. That is why I go to the Internet and go to conservative sites to find the truth out. I could watch any of these pukes above and get the exact, EXACT same script.

Ping to Sarah's List.

You said what was thinking Andy but couldn't come up with a good way to say it.

FNC’s “hard news” division has definitely swerved Left. “Special Report,” “Fox News Sunday,” and Shemp Smith’s show are unwatchable.

The morning shows and the evening “commentary” still retain their “conservative” bent.

Unfortunately, Palin wouldn't be allowed at NOW. They proved that they are partisan organization when then were mum about Bill Clinton's sexual harassment charges and didn't defend Paula Jones while the rest of the Liberal masses attacked Jones. They were a traitor to a woman in need because of politics.

They lost all credibility then and it is proof positive that when a civil rights organization gets too big it morphs into a monster and loses sight of its original goals and beliefs.

Big admirer of Sarah here, but she does have a rather humdrum, PC side. The simplest explanation for her above observation is that the scandalous harassment 1) didn't happen; 2) is now being heavily embroidered and falsified; or 3) was not something the young woman objected to at the time.

Those subjected to bad behavior by a boss at work have the same choice any man does: Quit. If there's real criminal behavior--and I'm not talking about the "hostile environment" crap you'd expect to hear from any snowflake who can't handle work--say it now. Or it didn't happen.

That would be the tough love I expected from Sarah. But even though she had real smarts, a focus on principle, and a great work ethic, she rose through the ranks in politics with the help of a feminist, girl-power bubble of sorts herself. And it didn't hurt being a confident athlete and a real looker.

During my years in the military and in corporate America, I have seen men harass men as a matter of routine.

Some men are leaders though, and work to establish a business culture of respect and to foster innovation; same with ladies who are in leadership roles. Those were the environments I respected most for work.

The military must have a different approach in that ‘harassment’ is a form of training to extract every aspect of individual ego out of a soldier and train each soul to mesh and function with the unit. It simply can’t be any other way.

This ‘unit’ mentality carries over to corporate organizations that must meet deadlines. If an individual is not performing with the unit according to the unit’s deadlines, then hazing and berating are near certain to ensue. Maybe in these settings there are other ways but a culture of “it’s Ok to miss deadlines” cannot be tolerated.

The above harassment is merely cracking the whip on those who are not keeping up with the unit. Either get with the program or get out.

Other forms of harassment? Sexual groping? Cat calling? That’s a sign of low-quality leadership. Sarah’s comments would apply here.

She makes a very good point in telling women to object to discrimination right off the bat, not to just take it and then blow the whistle later (after their own self-interests have been served). The first thing the EEO people will ask is “when did the abuse first happen, and when did you first say something about it?”
