Yordano Ventura, a 25-year-old starting pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, reportedly died in a car crash in the Dominican Republic today.

The death is tragic, but I believe it shows that some men never really grow up to become adults. Yordano was a spoiled child on the field and this is the end of an embarrassing chapter in MLB.

He was a lunatic. No room for his dangerous antics in MLB.

True. But I don’t think he deserved to die, though this is where narcissistic behavior gets you.

He was weird. Wanted to fight with everyone, even though most of the people on the field were bigger than him. I watched that game with Trout. Trout was standing on first base looking confused while Ventura challenged him, if Trout had hit him, they would have had to postpone the game to pick up the pieces.

Ventura struck me as the kind of kid that only had one gear . . . and the needle was stuck in the red. As ‘they’ say, live hard - die hard.

Yordano was dangerous. He viewed the ball as a weapon to retaliate against perceived slights to his ego.

Eventually he was going to seriously injure someone.

The St Louis Cardinals had an up and coming star die in a DR car crash a few years ago.

this is so sad... as a SF Giants fan, i did not like him when the Giants faced him in the 2014 World Series, but that’s because he was really good... yes, he was hot-headed—but what a tragedy...

yes--that was Oscar Taveras... he died during the 2014 World Series when the SF Giants were up against, kind of ironically, the KS Royals--Ventura's team... the Giants had eliminated the Cardinals in the NL Pennant Championship... i remember thinking, had the Cardinals won, they would have been in the World Series and Taveras would not have been in the Dominican Republic... and he would not have died... :(

His hot temper may have contributed to his death. What a shame.

I don’t know who this person is, but 25 is far too young to die. R.I.P.
