A teacher who displayed the Confederate flag to middle schoolers in his history class was forced to retire amid concerns that he was displaying a symbol of hate.
70-year-old Sutter Middle School (Folsom, CA) teacher Woody Hart hanged both a Confederate flag and a Union flag during his lesson on the Civil War.
In a public statement (via the Sacramento Bee), Folsom Cordova Unified School District made suggested that he may have hung up the flag for some reason other than to teach the history lesson.
“We recognize that regardless of context, to many of our students, families, and staff, the Confederate flag is a racist symbol of hate,” the statement reads. “Although this matter is under investigation, it is important to reiterate: Any employee who is found to engage in behavior that creates an unsafe environment for students will face full consequences, including the possibility of initiating termination proceedings.”
“In this case, the flag — which was found across the room from a Civil War Union flag, potentially in preparation of a history activity — was removed from the classroom before school began today,” it continues. “It is our schools’ responsibility to provide a safe learning environment for all children.”
This is what you get when the Democrats lifted the ban on Communists in the school systems (they recently lifted the ban, also now permit teaching sedition and anti-American government views).
There are blue states- blue cities and counties but mostly Red states.

It’s a history class about the war, and they consider a battle standard a symbol of hate? I thought this nonsense wouldn’t be tolerated anymore.
Send the blue states to Canada and annex Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I used to put a rifle or shotgun in my locker so I could hunt on the way home. Imagine what the principal at this school would’ve said about that.
Leftists are the American ISIS. They want to blow up history and recreate the nation in the name of their religion.
He could have displayed the ISIS flag and received a commendation for being “enlightened”.
Wanna bet it’s ok to put up a Chicom flag when teaching about China, at this school.
The good news is: “This will continue to receive a grade of craptastic education and get just plain dumber”.
Parents everywhere should cheer this outcome.

This teacher was probably one of their better ones and more involved than some my kids had that all they were good for was passing out worksheets.
I remember doing that role-playing stuff in my AP History classes. We would read and learn about the stuff and then re-enact the various arguments pro and con. Trying to dress up was stupid though - and there were always a few that had their mom’s sew up period costumes. “What Mr. Brown? I’m pretty sure they had tee-shirts back then!”
And every once in awhile he would put on an “educational” history movie like “Tora Tora Tora” and he’d sit in the back and try to grade papers.
Honestly, this is just the school district’s excuse to get him off double paid retirement and salary and replace him with a cheap college grad.
Did they fire all the people in California who advocate secession? That would be a good start.
What would happen if they showed the Swastika as they explained the bombing of Pearl Harbor?
Insanity at its finest. What is to become of America with all of these misguided and evil people running the education systems. I have just begun substitute teaching this year and after a couple of days, it was evident to me that we are losing the battle for the minds of our children in our country. I hope a private school hires this individual.

Government schools must be abolished.
I went to a very liberal private high school in the 80s. I remember it had a rifle range...which would be taboo today. Also we had an annual event called The Assassination Game, where most students carried toy dart guns around for weeks...this was a very, very liberal school. I just find it amazing how quickly things have changed.
Vary close. But we fought back by electing President Trump. And if push comes to shove, we will fight back in other ways. And they will lose again. Badly.
