You’ve got to trust our instincts and let go of regret.

You’ve got to bet on yourself, now Star, Cause that’s your best bet.

Thanks! and oh hell yea! Luther Ingram. I also enjoyed a Canadian hit from Triumph but these are far from one hit wonders. I stand corrected. Luther Ingram

Gary Wright also had a hit in the early ‘80s called “Really want to know you.” I was young but I believe it came out in ‘81 or ‘82.

Catholic, Louie. I think that our catechism teacher was inspired. I think she heard the tune and wanted to praise God in her created lyrics.

The Catholic church uses popular music. At Christmas, the choir will sing “Mary Did You Know.”

If you enter a Catholic Church, you will see the missals and the missaelettes in the pews and there are hymns and songs in the back with the musical notes.

Also you can follow along with the readings for that Sunday or some churches provide for daily readings. In the front of the missal is the sequence of the Mass. The Mass is ritualized and meant to bring the profane to the sacred and to leave us with a feeling of community and mission.

I hope you attend a Mass with someone who can Shepard you through.

Back to music:

When I hear certain pop songs, I know I hear them as songs of praise. Debbie Boone’s You light Up My Life and Leon Russel ( who I just discovered last week from a FR post last week—love him now!) is addressing God when he sings “Singing This Song For You.”

https://www.google.com.mx/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=leon+russell+singing+this+song+for+you&;*

God Bless you and your inquisitiveness. We who believe inherit a wonderful gift. The need and desire to adore God.It is wonderfully fulfilling.

You are seeing something real.

I first noticed this in 1996.

They are singing about our Lord.

“1972 – The Los Angeles Coliseum plays host to the Woodstock of the West festival, sponsored by KROQ. Performers include Stevie Wonder, Sly & the Family Stone, the Bee Gees, and the Eagles.”

I didn’t know that, thank you for your info...
