Fertility declines in both men and women with age. I thought this was common knowledge?

They identified a specific defect in the eggs of older female mice, which resulted in these eggs having an abnormal number of chromosomes and they think women may be going through something similar. MICE?? Where is the feminist outrage? Mice are now somehow equal to women??

Men have fathered children naturally in their 90’s. What are you talking about?

“When women reach their late thirties or forties, the likelihood of getting pregnant starts decreasing.”
Who doesn’t know this?
Oh, wait...we’ve had a generation of, ‘Sex Ed’ entailing putting condoms on bananas, versus teaching any MEANINGFUL and RELEVANT information about how The Human Body actually works!

Population mean charts say fertility starts falling in women at age 25-26. Sad to say in the USA mean age of marriage is older than that. Caring about fertility in old women, cultural suicide.

I’ve heard that the quality and quantity of sperm declines with age in men, which in turn makes it harder for them to impregnate a woman.

It was even true in the days of Abraham and Sarah.

That is the case, however it’s not full stop as it is with females. Men can father children for their entire lives, provided disease doesn’t render that impossible.

Lies, all lies. Just trying to make me believe I can’t get pregnant at 50. Lies.

Known since biblical times.
(See Genesis; particularly God, Abraham, Sarah, and God’s promise.)

My wife is 33...no kids. 7 years left before we hit 40. It may sound silly but I feel like the years are rapidly slipping away.

If they’re trying to figure out why it’s harder for women in their 40s, why not study women instead of mice?

As far as women donating eggs, they usually don't "harvest" eggs from women anywhere near 40. That said, plenty of women in their 40's and older have fine, healthy babies.
Any way you have a child, is a blessing and a gift :)
