Some of that but in olden times when a woman hit puberty they had all of the skills to run a family.

There is one truism in life. A woman never listens to her mother before she marries but can’t stop after she marries, causes no end of problems.

We’ve been trying to conceive for almost 6 years now. It’s just never happened.

We did the same exact thing for my sister. Her birthday wasn’t until September 2nd, and we knew she didn’t have much time left, so we decided to have a birthday party for her in the early part of August while she was still conscious. All her friends came, and we took pictures of her with them. She even had a couple sips of beer.

From what I have read, conception success for a woman in her 40s seems to differ for a woman who has already given birth compared to a woman who has never been pregnant.

When women are teenagers until they are forty, their beds are aligned north-south so they don`t catch the morning sunshine. After forty their beds are aligned east west to catch the morning sunshine. Sperm swim faster N-S.

Some studies say that the sperm of older men can increase the odds of birth defects. Some studies say coffee is good for you, others show it’s bad, so I don’t know the validity of any study.

As the saying goes, consider the alternative.

I thank God I am still on this side of the lawn.

My mother had her 9th child at 43. My eldest sister had her 5th and 6th — yes, twins — at 44. (Ironically, my mother’s first birth was to twins.)

100 years ago women were getting married in their teens all the time. It still happens in small towns. While black neighborhoods have preteens with babies. 500 years ago the average lifespan was 30. Girls in some ethnic groups aren’t ready until they are older, late teens. But in other groups they are starting at 12.

Say what you wish about the morality but the human race would never have gotten this far if our ancestors waited until they were 30 years old to start having children. This thing called adolescence is a resent phenomenon. Even as recently as 1900 in America the average lifespan was 47. Think if a girl waited to 25 she would be dead before her first grandchild. And likely she would not live long enough to raise all her kids.

I think her living with us and seeing the kids grow up gave her a will to live.

You are probably correct about that. Sorry for your loss of both of your parents.
