Perhaps it's my skepticism... But I see the usual suspects supporting Trump after the air-strike....

Makes you suspicous od what? These vague innuendo laced criticisms of Trump are getting tiresome. How about some specifics so we can judge your case on its lack of merit rather than mere innuendo.

Trump made it clear during the campaign that he was going to eliminate ISIS. Do you think the Syrian strike changes that? If so, make your case.

Do you think it signifies ground troops will be sent in to topple Assad? If so, make your case, but in the mean time, the facts are these. This attack was focused , involved no ground troops or American casualties, and was designed to send a message that extends well beyond Syria, which it did.

Are you feigning concern for the Syrian people or for the cost of the missils?

In some ways, it seems like Trump followed up the fake chemical attack with a fake missile attack. I mean he did attack, but he warned them he was coming. Like he was like, (to Putin & Assad) guys, I gotta blow something up, ya know, my people, very bad optics, gonna have to blow something up.

“What you’re missing is that the American people in general always support military action taken by a a president.”

Yes, like in Vietnam, like in Central America in the 80s. like in Iraq. Democrats are well known for their support of the military. /s

I think some people misconstrued Trump to be some kind of Quaker pacifist. They forgot that he ran on a platform of beating the crap out of our enemies. How was he supposed to accomplish this, by casting flowers and wearing a pussyhat?

We really can’t run the country based on your suspicions based on who supported an action. This was a limited action and it served multiple purposes.

Exactly. Either we trust this President or we don't.

Many of those—not all, but many—who are wringing their hands right now are the same crowd who have never been willing to give President Trump the benefit of the doubt.

For some, it's just another excuse to indulge their NeverTrump impulses.

At some point, the endless second-guessing of every single move has to stop. We have the hysterical Left for that.

This man set aside his easy life in order to try to Make America Great Again, and tearing him down at every opportunity will never help him succeed.

I'm not privy to the classified intel which the President based his decision on, but I do know that it was backed up by multiple sources, including Israel. There certainly seemed to be a consensus among the relevant interests.

This very limited action accomplished several things, among them is the total evaporation of the absurd notion that President Trump was being influenced by Russia.

I defer to the President's judgement—and that of his Defense Secretary, Cabinet, and advisors—on this matter of foreign policy. Period.

Lol that's exactly how I think the whole thing went down.

If you had a blog you could link to it.

Some FReepers pay close attention to that.

It also makes me wonder... most everyone agrees there was no apparent motive for Assad to drop gas bombs at this point in the war, but the US, and more particularly P-Trump, are quite sure they did it, and the Russians were involved or incompetent. What if Putin put him up to it as a test for the new president to see what he would do. The more I’m seeing, the more I’m thinking #FAKEGASATTACK #FAKERETALIATION.

No the American people support military actions early on, they may lose support over time. As in the examples you cited. Vietnam started and escalated as a democrat war and enjoyed wide support ta the outset.

In any event Graham is not a democrat, and while he is a jerk he is conservative on many issues.

I saw that McCain, while praising the strike, still blamed Trump rhetoric for the gassing happening in the first place. They won’t be happy u til they start WW3.

You`re right. Peace through strength only works if your adversaries know you`re willing to use it.

IF that turns out to be what happens, it’s unprecedented. The fake gas attack would have been designed to put him in a trap. The fake response gets him off the hook with the libs, doesn’t rub P-Putin’s nose in it too much, gets him his nuke in the Senate, and provides a nice fireworks show for P-XI to enjoy over his Creme Brulee. I like it.
