Former President Barack Obama reportedly made $400,000 for an appearance and interview last week at an A&E Networks advertising event.
The former president was interviewed at The Pierre Hotel in Midtown Manhattan by presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, The New York Post reported. The “History Makers” event, which lasted 90 minutes, was conducted in front of the cable network's advertisers and hosted by A&E chief Nancy Dubac.

Only a fool would pay to hear one of his rerun speeches.
And like him or not (I choose not) he’d be foolish not to take the money and run! He may eventually need it for legal fees- or bribes!

It sounds like it wasn’t even a speech, just an interview.
A speech requires many hours of preparation, edits, re-writes, practice, timing etc. An interview focuses on Obama’s best attributes...just showing up.
I guess giving him a quarter to just shut up is out of the question now.
