Just checked - new tomato is Beefmaster Hybrid - big slices for hamburgers - promised 15 - 20 in packet - planted 5, saved the rest.
The new small pepper plant is a Sweet Pepper Marconi Red - she shot up a bit last week out in the rain (and with a tad of Miracle Gro bought on sale last year at closeout time along with Jobe’s Bonemeal).
I bought 8 bags of potting mix and compost on sale last year for half price at Walmart. Hubby keeps stealing it. LOL
I might have to come your way and swipe a bag, LOL.
Just finished off the last 40% of a bag by putting out the chive seeds in a small planter and about 10-15 tomato plant starts (about 2.5 inches).
UNDER part of a deck to minimize the Sun, especially afternoon Sun.
;)
Even mature tomatoes can need shade from the summer afternoon sun when the temps are way up there.
Small Obnoxious Dog is almost four, but he’s a livestock guardian and they’re...special.
Which is to say that he pulled up and ate one broccoli seedling and I yelled at him. He pulled up another one and RAN with it, so I chased him down, grabbed his scruff, and yelled some more. On Number Three, he snuck his nose under my elbow while I was planting and tried to take a bite while I was watching. I glared. He got the idea.I finished up and moved around the garden bed to work on the next thing when I HEARD him being smug. I looked up and saw him across the bed with his teeth just barely closed on a leaf, watching me and grinning. Just wanted to be sure I was paying attention... :D
Crossbills are adapted to eat seeds out of pine cones Lady Di...
Thanks for the pictures. My old corn seeds sprouted pretty good. Only have a couple of spaces that didn’t.
