I had the opportunity to snorkel with some half-grown sea lions in the Galapagos a few years back, and they were delighted to have new friends to cavort with. One popped up to the surface when I did, and doing kept doing back-flips. I tried a flip of my own, and the young pinniped was amazed. He dove under water and grabbed one of my flippers in his mouth.
I decided that was enough fun, and returned to the panga, but there wasn't a mark on the flipper.
