Hollywood is facing a very bad weekend unless there’s someone who hasn’t seen “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2.” Paramount’s “Baywatch” with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron is a disaster. Currently at 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, our Leah Sydney says it just falls flat. (See her review below.) Disney’s 5th “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie has a 33, which ain’t much better. After the first night, big things are not expected.

Looking at those titles does not give me terribly much motivation to head to the nearby movie theatre (have not done so since “The King’s Speech” a few years ago now).
How could “Baywatch” not be horrid?

I was going to say how could they possibly screw up Baywatch? Just get the right hot babes and the thing sells itself..... they must have done a really terrible job.

If the latest “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” movie is out I’d take the kids to see it; the others were good wholesome fun (functional nuclear family that attends Mass)...
They probably tried to give it a plot.
Out of the 200-plus episodes....I think I watched a total of two of them. The script, I had the feeling, was written by two high school kids with no real aim. The ‘gang-leader’ episode I watched...had no real acting and no real words to fit the characters. It was like....let’s film some beach scenes, throw some babes into the middle of this, add a layer of humor, and conclude the whole story in 40 minutes.
Ever since the time when “Memorial Day Mattress Sales” have been spoken about more times than what Memorial Day really means, Hollywood can do many, many quick hand exercises in their closets, and it won’t mean a thing.
Well, there’s a cool shark flick coming in June if you want to hold your breath. Titled 47 Meters Down. Two water babies at risk of becoming fish food.
There are many more opportunities, these days, for viewers to see busty women in and out of bathing suits.
Just like vcr’s put Playboy magazine out of business.
Yeah and she’s too well covered in the photos online :)
That might pull (no pun intended) some teen boys in.
