There’s an article in the current Biblical Archaeology Review written by a professor of Biblical Studies at Cal Berkeley. In it, he warns about the threat of RIGHT-WING suppression of free speech and independent scholarship, and RIGHT-WING political correctness! Talk about people living in parallel universes! Has he looked out his window lately?

when the college was announced, I was just entering high school on the Washington coast. We were excited because the intent stated was that it was to serve SW Washington.
UW was getting over crowded and difficult to get in. Western is in Bellingham and far away for SW Wash. students.
Because of the alternative education, patterned off of the 1960’s “Open University” model, this school does NOT serve SW Washington students.
In addition, I am guessing that a high number of students are not even from WA state, let alone from SW Washington. But my tax payer dollars are paying for them and the small slice of the population that is attracted to such a “school”.

Our tax dollars in Washington support this nonsense to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars. Indoctrinating kids to become unproductive malcontents is not the role of public education. Over 4000 people are still attending this poor excuse for a University.
I spent a quarter at Fairhaven College on the Western Washington University campus in Bellingham, WA. This is the school that Evergreen was based on. It was a complete waste of my time and my own, my parents’ and taxpayers’ money. How this nonsense is still being allowed to go on over 40 years later is beyond me. It is a relic of the hippie movement that should have been put out of its misery long ago.
Evergreen is total garbage and a waste of taxpayer funds... their ‘grads’ are not employable.
They are blind to their biases, prejudices and totalitarian tendencies. Conservatives believe in limited government which slows down totalitarian tendencies. Liberals believe in big government which feeds the beast.

Yes, of course, it is a state school.
In the online review and comments section for the school even many of Evergreen’s former students were writing that it is a junk school and the faculty and many students hate White males.
I must confess....
My sister & her husband live in Olympia. She is very liberal...and allowed her son (a very bright kid) to attend Evergreen. He is currently a student.
While we agreed to disagree during the Bush and Obama years, I believe the left and my sister have become increasingly radicalized and as such when Trump won her attacks become much worse and communication with her had to stop. I had no idea this ‘college’ was such a liberal training camp.
