She was bothered by the little glitches in her performance here. I'm not.
I lived near Blues Alley and could easily have attended this performance by Eva, but I never heard of her before malignant melanoma killed her.

Jenni Rivera, had a fantastic voice, and tragically perished in a plane crash.

She’s the one that first came to mind but her name escaped me. Didn’t know Alvin York was her cousin. Thank you for the reminder and the historical/familial fact.
Karen Carpenter would be in the top three, and Doris Day would be my third choice. No one quite sounds like any of them.
A top 10 would make these kind of decisions a lot easier with so many great vocalists from which to choose.
